Which Itinerary and Why?

We are planning our first cruise to Asia and would like opinions as to which itinerary you would recommend and why? I realize they are both different areas (Southern vs. Northern), but we are trying to figure out which one to do first. Thanks!

 

Itinerary #1:

Hong Kong

Vietnam

Thailand

Cambodia

Singapore

 

Itinerary #2:

Hong Kong

Shangai, China

South Korea

Hiroshima, Japan

Osaka, Japan

Dalian, China

Tianjin, China

no question number one. 4 great cities HK, Ho ++, Bang kok and Singapore and great resort stops. :cool:

I would book Itin #1 also. Though you didn't list your ports, great countries.

Number 1 also as long as you had at least four full days in Vietnam. In addition, find out where your ship would dock in Saigon and Shanghai. Finally, whether you will be staying overnight in Bangkok. I think the first itinerary is great if you have overnights in each of the ports. If you are just going to have brief one day visits, I think it is a waste of time and would choose the second itinerary instead.

PS I have done both itineraries (no stop in Cambodia) on Seven Seas Mariner and enjoyed them both.
