oh yes peeps---- the factory where they are made is about 1 mile from where we live and yes they are the greatest invention since the wheel

This is kinda sick but I only like them when they are stale too. I had some leftover from the holidays & one cookout we toasted them - some got a little bit too burnt. We started having fun putting them on the fire & watching them melt.

Stale or toasted - delicious!!!! Microwaving Peeps is yummy, too. If you ever want to torture a peep, put them in one of those food saver vacuum bag things and suck all the air out - they DON'T plump back up when you set them free!! We're going on the April 19th sailing of the 'Monarch'....The last thing my husband wants to see on the cruise is Gourmet Peeps.

He works at Just Born, Inc. the company that makes the 'Peeps' (and Mike & Ike's). Very good company to work for, though...Last week they gave each employee 10 CASES of Peeps for FREE.

OMG, 10 cases of peeps. 1 little box would make me sick. I HATE them. It does seem like everyone lets them get stale before they eat them. Just saw a program about them on The Travel Channel the other week I believe. One of those top 10 things...

OOh Peeps! I thought I was the only wierd one. My sister is a freak....after Easter she will go buy a bunch at half-off and stockpile them. Then a week later when they are marked down to 10 cents, she'll buy even more. She also hoards Lucky charms when they are on sale. I have a strange family.
Have you guys ever had stale gummy bears? Those are good too.

Like the majority here, I believe stale is the way to go! If the chef is whipping up some gourmet peeps for Easter, he'd better already have them done so they can age properly.
We shall eat no peep before its time.

Oh, the peeps have a bus as well. I took my DD last year for the "tour". A bunch of display cases with a gazillion incarnations of the peep, a free (unfortunately very fresh) peep at the end of the tour, and for the kids a chance to spin a wheel for a prize.

Littlegoo75 - Funny you should mention the Gummy Bears. I just bought some for my son this afternoon. I opened the bag and ate a few. They were TOO fresh. I much prefer them when they are hard.
