Family of 14....My husband told me that chocolate flavored marshmellow Peeps are in the R & D stages.

BTW...I'm down to only about 3 cases of Peeps remaining...I've been giving them out to family, friends and MY co-workers.

A while ago, we attempted to cook Peeps over our campsite fire but the sugar got so burnt...I think the fire was too hot!!

Also, has anyone tried frozen peeps?

Circus Peanuts! I can only eat one of those then I want to puke. I put those in my husbands Christmas stocking every year as a gag gift. I wonder if anyone ever really buys those things other than as a joke.

WOW it is great to know I am not alone....I LOVE stale peeps! I started a "diet" in Feb. and do not eat sugar and carbs. For my birthday in March, I didn't want a cake, I wanted PEEPS! I bought myself a small box (5) and that was my treat for my birthday!

Abridanmaven - thank you for the recipe!!!!

Has anyone tried the strawberry flavored peep eggs??? YUCK!!! Too imitation of a strawberry flavor for me.

Okay, I have a peep question - what is your peep eating ritual? I bite their eyes off, then their beak (if it is a chick) then the tail and finally pop the body in my mouth....am I alone here? Rabbits - the ears and eyes go first!!!

Peeps are also good in hot chocolate!

I think it would be a cute garnish in the dining room for all of the desserts to come with a PEEP!!!

I think I am addicted to Peeps! This time of year I cannot just walk by them in a store...somehow a box (sometimes 2) just Jumps into my Grocery Cart when I go to the market! For those who like myself love them stale, a quick and yummy alternative is to keep them in the freezer...they don't freeze hard but it is very similar to stale.

Alright this is going to sound preachy. I used to be really addicted to peeps. In fact around here, they even had them for halloween and fourth of July, so it was always on the store shelves. And I never went a week without buying them when they were there. But since I went low carb and do not crave sweets, they do not tempt me on the least, funny how you taste changes.
While I have the recipe for them I am not sure if I will even make them. I have a local store that does all sorts of low carb and sugar free treats including choc covered raspberry jells (another addiction I once had), I have only bought them 2 or 3 times in the last year.

I too love stale peeps although the wife hates them...On the bunnies, I bite off the ears, then head, and lastly body. On the rabbits, I bite off the tail, then the head area, and lastly the body. LOL

I've never tried newer shapes and/or holiday varieties. Strickly an Easter treat.

I love circus peanuts! Could eat a whole bag of them in an afternoon. I guess that's what keeps candy manufacturers in business, we all like something different.

Thanks to all of you who LOVE to eat Peeps.

The more Peeps you eat....the more overtime my husband gets, (as previously stated, he works at Just Born, Inc. the maker of the Peeps)...the more cruises I get to go on!!!

..and remember, Peeps aren't just for Easter anymore!...So, eat up people...I want to go on a cruise in Nov. 04!!!

So, thanks again...

I'm a vet and someone sent this to me once, interesting description of "peep surgery". After all they are born as conjoined twins.

I also can't get enough of the peeps at Easter time and I don't normally even eat sweets. As soon as I enter a store I can hear then calling to me. However, I will only buy the yellow and the pink ones. The other colors are "unnatural". As for eating technique, what's wrong with popping the entire thing in your mouth?

I have a strange PEEP storY!

I absolutely LOVE them, and a friend of mine HATES them. So, each year in my mailbox around this time I find "decapitated peeps"!!! Yup, she chops the heads off (have to be yellow), puts red food coloring "like blood" on where the "chop" was made, puts the head in one baggie and the bodies in another, and drops them off sometime at night in my mailbox...........a bizarre Easter tradition. The first year when my kids were little, they were a little grossed out, now they think it's funny and can hardly wait for the PEEPS to appear.

I'll eat my fair share this Easter, for sure!

How long will it take them to get "stale"?
