Favorite Caribbean Destination

I know there are lots more of Caribbean islands but polls are limited to ten options so I listed the most popular Caribbean destinations. Overall, which is your favorite and why? Thank you to all who participate.

In my limited experience of the Caribbean, St-Martin can't be beat. It's got 3 cultures in one place, beautiful beaches, great restaurants and shopping... The only minus is that it's not really "traditionnal Caribbean". I will be discovering 3 more islands with the Dawn so that might change. I have my eyes on Barbados and Dominica.

All of them, but because DH and I have many cruises under our belt, we are perfectly happy to simply stay aboard and not even disembark!

I would never have picked St. Thomas until last year when we went on the Winifred for a day sail. Now I can't wait to get back. It was the best day we have ever had in port.

I actually have two Grand Cayman and Aruba. String Ray City and the reef of Grand Cayman and the beaches of Aruba.

None of the above is my favorite... :( My favorite is Curacao with my next favorite Belize.

 

Of those listed in the poll, I'd say that St. Maarten is my favorite followed by Cozumel.

Trunk Bay in St Johns is as perfect as I've seen!

St Thomas....we like it so much that we live in a few weeks for a 10 day land vacation! Other than Hawaii this will be our first land (non cruise) vacation to a tropical destination. We love that from one island you can easily get to several others by ferry (St John, Tortola, St Croix, Virgin Gorda).

Have to say St.Thomas. Our son ans his wife live there. They have a great time taking visitors out on their sail boat for weeks at a time..What a life!

Cozumel is on my top 10 list.. So much to do, diving, golf, shopping, boating, hobie cat races, diving or swimming with the dolphins and most of all Carlos and Charlies:D :D

I vote for DOMINICA. Beautiful, unspoiled island, friendly people, less trampled with tourism.

I loved the view of the Pitons sailing down the coast of St. Lucia! Everyone was so friendly and we had so much fun dancing on the catamaran, snorkeling at Anse Cochon, the bougainvillia at the botanical gardens was beautiful, the food delicious, and oh yes, I even enjoyed the hair-raising ride on the bus through the rainforest and banana plantation.

Martinique, by far, because of its incredible beauty. Second to that is St. John's - the snorkeling/diving is heaven. Since those weren't in the poll, I picked St. Thomas.

It's hard to pick just one! I love Grand Cayman ... I love St. Thomas for the shopping ... but I'm also looking forward to a future trip to Antigua. (cross your fingers!)

I would have to say Aruba and then Tortola. However, I now fit into the mold after some 20 Caribbean Cruises of - if I never see the Caribbean again it will be to soon. There is to much world to see.

I loved Curacao for its clean beauty and friendly people, but my favorites are the nature islands of Dominica, St. Kitts and St. Lucia!

There is nothing as beautiful as the beaches in Barbados. I'll take Trunk Bay on St. John as second.

Definitely St. Thomas. Spent 10 days there for our honeymoon, and will be taking our first Princess cruise next spring to celebrate our 25th anniversary and will be there for a day (with our 2 teenagers!). As my sister just built a home on St. John, I'm sure I'll be back there again soon!!
