I just booked on the Carnival Pride for Feburary 6th out of Long Beach. I am arriving a day early and am looking for the best place to stay and also for transportation to and from the airport and also to the port in Long Beach. Any help would be greatly appreciated. (I'm on a bit of a budget)

We used SuperShuttle to get from the airport to our hotel and then from the cruise back to the airport. We stayed at the Long Beach Coast Hotel the night before our cruise. They had a free breakfast buffet and they drove us to the hotel.

Enjoy the Pride. We had a great time.

I'm leaving out of Long Beach next week. Was very late in booking the hotel, but I'm staying at the Westin. Very close to the pier. Booked through an online auction, and got a very good deal. Also taking the super shuttle from LAX to the hotel. The Coast Hotel was definately also an option. Some friends will be staying at the Queen Mary Hotel and it's at the same pier as the Pride. I read on another post that it you call they do give discounts to those sailing on the Pride.

There are several hotel options you can choose from. It just depends on how much or how little you want to spend. The Coast Hotel is very close and has a great view. Of course you can't get much closer than the Queen Mary. Other centrally located hotels are the Renaissance, Westin, Courtyard and the Hyatt Regency. I good website to visit is http://www.visitlongbeach.com

Have a great trip.

I am also booked on the Pride Feb 6. We live in south los angeles just 15 minutes from the pier, but I would defintely suggest Super Shuttle from LAX. You dont need to have a reservation with them from the airport, you just go outside to curbside pick up and someone will direct you to the correct line and the person from supershuttle will have a clipboard and then tell you which shuttle will take you to your hotel.

Also many hotels have their own shuttles. If you are flying in to Long Beach Airport, you could most likely take a cab, it isnt too very far.

As for hotels, I dont really know the are well, but I have heard that the Queen Mary (which offers an early board to the ship) has deals for Carnival passengers but you have to call because it isnt advertised. I was thinking of staying there the night before to start off our romantic vacation the right way! I havent called yet, but I'll let you know what they tell me when I do.

Thank you all for all the great tips and advice. Does anyone know how far Long Beach is from the touristy stuff in LA? I have been to LA a few times but never ventured too far while there. I also found a deal that offers a room at the Hilton and a rent a car for $70. I was thinking about this since I will be arriving a day early. If I stay in Long Beach it definetly sounds like the shuttle is the way to go.
