been on the ships with "new"Diamond/+ lounges?

Recommended Posts

Anyone been on the ships with the two concierge lounges? How are they different and what ships have added the D/+ lounges-they are not showing up on the Rccl web . I hope the new lounges have the same "perks" as the suites-check out the suiters vs. your loyal customers Rccl!

All of the Freedom class ships (Freedom, Liberty, and Independence) have a concierge lounge for suite guests and a diamond club for Diamond and Diamond Plus members of C&A. They provide the same basic services, but IMHO, the location of the Diamond Club lounges with great views from high atop the ship is significantly better than the interior concierge lounges which, while plushly furnished, lack the ambiance of lounges with a view of the outside. :)

Someone on another thread just said that if you're Diamond or Diamond Plus you have to be in a suite in order to use either of the lounges. Is that right? What if you made Diamond by staying in oceanviews or insides? Does it matter?

There is no Diamond Lounge on Navigator; just the one Concierge Lounge. What you can hope for is that there are enough Diamond and Plus members on your cruise that the concierge opens a second lounge somewhere and sets it up for drinks in the evenings. That is what has happened on my last 5 or 6 cruises on both Voyager class and Radiance class ships. That extra lounge is only open in the evening. But you will have access to the regular CL during the rest of the time for coffees, etc.

That someone was wrong or misinterpreted what he or she was told. You have to be Diamond or Diamond Plus AND in a suite to have access to BOTH lounges on those ships that have both (Freedom, Liberty, Independence). If you are Diamond or Diamond Plus on one of those three ships, you have access ONLY to the Diamond Lounge. Concierge lounge access on those ships is restricted to guests booked in suites.

How you make Diamond or Diamond Plus is irrelevant. As long as you have the required number of cruise credits it doesn't matter what category of room you stayed in or whether your cruises were of the three day or the fourteen day variety.:)
