Are museums/ancient ruins of Italy and Greece closed on Mondays?

Recommended Posts

I read in a tour description on the Princess website that most museums in Florence are closed on Mondays. Does this apply to other ports in Italy and Greece as well such as Rome and Athens? Are the ancient ruins in these areas closed on any certain day of the week?

I am trying to decide on a Mediterranean cruise for October 2005, and I am comparing different cruise itineraries, ships, etc. Right now I am leaning toward the Millennium or Grand Princess because they both go to Athens and Venice which are two ports I really want to visit.

I read these boards nearly everyday gathering information from
CC cruisers and find all the info very helpful! If anyone can help me with answers to these questions I would appreciate it!

Hopefully, before too long, I will be able to join a "Roll Call" for a certain Med cruise date in October 2005!

You are correct on Museums being closed on Mondays in Florence, but I think you're ok for the rest.... You should join our group on Millenium Oct. 13th. The only bad day we have is Rome on a Sunday which should only effect the Sistine Chapel, everything else seems to be open.
