Is there an alternative menu as well? I didn't see much on the menu that I would eat.
Good Morning, There is an alternative menu - the same every night with a steak and chicken dish, potato and such. I will check on that closer tonight
NO VIDALIA ONION TART........ WHAT???

That's my fav..... now i'm sad.................

Were you freaking out when you had to go down for your luggage.????
I was a bit concerned about the luggage. Did not want to be kicked off the ship.

I must have said that wrong about the Vidalia Onion Tart. I had it last night but then when our waiter gave me a print out of the menu for last night it was not on it. So maybe they have it on the menu every night. I will let you know tonight. I will also check to see if it is Kevin in the Concierge.
Hey Kim!

WAKE UP!!! Grab that cup of coffee and come talk to us!!:D
I board her in 6 days but I need my fix from you nowwwwwwwww.

Thanks;)
Ok – we are up and sitting on our balcony enjoy our first cup of coffee overlooking Coco Cay. The tenders are loading directly below with very fair skinned beach bums. It is slight overcastted today and I hope to many do not return burned after our first full day. We are going to go to the windjammer and get some breakfast and bring it back down here. There is a wonder breeze and we can see everything. Maggie is still sleeping for now. She should catch up on sleep today and join us when we head over to the island around 11. Sure wish you could all feel this breeze and hear the gulls. Very special.

Thank You KimQ for posting LIVE.

We are just off Explorer and this is the first time I wasnt able to post Live. (it was a short 5 night and I had to tend to my 70something yo parents)

Since I feel like I NEED another cruise I'm looking forward to cruising with you and your Live posts! (I guess I should check out the itinerary so I know where I am going!!) Are you using WiFi and if so, what cabin are you in and able to get the WiFi service?

HI DZBOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MISS YOU!
How are things? Kids? DH? House? Etc.?

Those of us who are pretending we are on with you, can DEFINITELY feel those breezes (oops...one almost blew me over!) and hear the gulls (another oops..it was potty time for one:eek: ).
After the last negative review about Portofino, Kim, I hope that you'll eat there and reassure all of us that it is still wonderful!
We ate at Portofino two weeks ago on the Mariner. The food was excellent and the service was the best I have ever had on the Mariner. DH had halibut and DS and I both had the filet, all were perfect.

We had Augustus as our waiter. We wrote him up on our comment card at the end of the cruise because he was excellent!

Ever try ordering room service in the morning? It is great to have breakfast delivered and sit out on the balcony and enjoy the morning. No cost except for a small extra tip. Order on the TV and have it delivered when you want it.

Just back from Coco Cay and the temp felt like it was in the 80’s with a wonder breeze. The gulls became a little assertive during lunch. We walked around Snorkel Beach to Waterport Beach and found a big beautiful tree to relax under. Order up two Coco Locos and enjoyed the views. Then we headed out for a short hike. Went down to Wanderers Beach and onto the Nature Trail for a quite walk back to our perfect tree and then to a bit of lunch. All and all it has been a great day.

I am a little confused about what to do next. Do I go to Royal Pamper Yourself bingo or the Awesome Wine Tasting at Vintages Wine Bar? OK, not too confused, its wine for me. Bingo will come again tomorrow although I did win twice when on Explorer in Feb.

So at 4 grab a nice glass of wine and give it a slow swirl a deep sniff and a pleasurable taste with me. Here's to the Mariner!!!!!

Kim,

Sounds like your cruise is off to a fabulous start! Please let us know what they poured at the wine tasting in Vintages! Could you give us an idea of what reds they have on their menu and if it is different than the menu in the dining room.

Thanks for the updates!

Jodi

Hey ya’ll its Maggie, Yesterday was our first day on the ship. When we got on we toured a little bit and then went and watched the ship take off from the helicopter pad, after that we got settled in and got ready for dinner. Dinner was really good last night I had a ceaser salad to start with the chicken breast with herbs and chocolate cherry cake to finish off. It was really good. After dinner I went with Kim to the Casino she started to teach me how to play blackjack, we didn’t do to hot last night so wish us luck for tonight we need it. Today we arrived at coco cay I slept in till ten or so went and got breakfast and then we tendered off the ship to the beach. It was a beautiful port, we hadn’t been there before I’m being really lazy this trip so I laid on the beach and played in the water a little bit it was nice just to relax. We are back on the ship and going to get ready for dinner I will keep you posted!
