jozie Posted July 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Just to have my bases covered, what would your itinerary be if it is raining?
Rare Smellytoes Posted July 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2008 There's a ton of stuff to do in the rain. Shopping (of course), caves, aquarium, shopping (oh I said that). Just read over these boards and see what other people do. Don't forget, you can still snorkle in the rain.
jozie Posted July 16, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I would think if it rains all beaches closed...due to lightning. I guess I would bring extra cash for shopping.

herb Posted July 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2008 I'm not a big drinker but if it rained all day in Bermuda I'd go to the Swizzle Inn too and drink my tears away ;)

cruiseshark5 Posted July 17, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2008 how would i get there by bus from the dockyard:confused:
sdfolsom Posted July 17, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Just take the bus right from the dockyard. I believe either #10 or #11 will get you there. Just got back on Sat and we took the bus all over the island. I rode past the Swizzle Inn but did not go to it. Access around the island is very easy. Be sure to take the ferry over to St George's. It is a beautiful ride if you sit out on the upper deck.
ricks2047 Posted July 17, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2008 What would I do in Bermuda if it rained all day? The very same thing that I would do if it didn't rain. Remember people. There is no bad weather. Just poor choices in clothing. Get out there and have fun.
chief d Posted July 17, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 17, 2008 Swizzle Inn Would Be Our Choice. Heck It's Our Choice When It Ain't Raining. :D
Pomperaugrr Posted July 17, 2008 #12 Share Posted July 17, 2008 I'd say a very intensive comparison of Bermuda Specialty drinks would be in order. On the first rainy day, start with "Dark n' Stormy" comparisons at various locations. Our two favorites are the "Pickled Onion", in Hamilton and the "Frog & Onion," at King's Wharf. If it is raining the next day (unlikely), try a day of comparing "Rum Swizzles." Yes, the Swizzle Inn is the place to start. You may not want to leave... LadyBerard Posted July 18, 2008 #13 Share Posted July 18, 2008 If I was at the Dockyard, I think I'd hang out at Hammerheads (the bar at the Snorkel Park) and drink! If I was docked in St. George's or Hamilton, I'd head to the Swizzle Inn!

musicgirl63 Posted July 18, 2008 #16 Share Posted July 18, 2008 We kayaked in the pouring rain! We had an excursion booked and it rained from beginning to end. Luckily we all had partial scuba outfits to keep us warm. Just because it is raining doesn't mean you can't go in the water. It doesn't have to be lightening when it rains. You could definitely snorkel, hey your face is IN the water right!!!
Philly Steve Posted July 20, 2008 #17 Share Posted July 20, 2008 I'd take in the caves and the aquarium, then "Swizzle." :)
*Luv2Cruz* Posted July 20, 2008 #18 Share Posted July 20, 2008 Hope the Swizzle Inn takes reservations because it sounds like if it rains we're all gonna be there!
Rare hcat Posted March 7, 2009 #19 Share Posted March 7, 2009 we were there for a week once & it rained at some point every day--but lightly-- so we did the Caves, gardens, zoo, ferries, busses --forts all in the rain--still had a nice time.. Calrissian13 Posted March 10, 2009 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2009 I may be in the minority, but I would still go to the beach...the water is absolutely gorgeous contrasted against a dark sky. Depending on the temperature, I'd even go in the water. Mostly I'd sit and watch the waves...but I'm funny that way.
MikeNJ1109 Posted March 10, 2009 #21 Share Posted March 10, 2009 No doubt in our mind ... in case of a foul weather day, we would have High Tea at the Fairmont Princess Hotel. Michael & Silke
