p598738 Posted July 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2008 I can buy them with or without. My problem is that my wife needs a lot of room on the plane due to a knee problem. I guess that with or without air, I have to deal with the airline for seating. Can anyone give me advice ? Boston to somewhere in Europe. I seek advice to deal with the airlines. Thanks. paul929207 Posted July 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2008 The only thing I can think of that might help is to look for flights that use 767's. These are usually configured 2-3-2. By getting one of the 2's, you may be able to give your wife a little more room.
MSEm Posted July 20, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 20, 2008 I would check the airlines web page for the flights you are intesested in. Our Delta Flights from Atlanta or 2 - 3 - 2. By getting your own air you can control both the air line and the flight times. Also you can choose your seats. If you get air from the cruise line you will need to pay extra for Custom Air so that you can try to choose your seats. We flew United from Beijing to San Fran. The seats were 3 4 3 with very little knee space in Economy. Economy Plus had a little more leg room. Unless the airfare from the cruise line is cheap, book your own. nyfeds Posted July 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 20, 2008 Check out Seat Guru http://www.seatguru.com I concur about booking your own air. I'd opt for an aisle seat. Upon check-in, you could also inquire of emergency/exit row seating.
