When we are visting somewhere, and we buy a bottle of something (I want to buy a bottle of proper Caribbean rum) do we had this over when we get back on board or can we take it to our room.

I dont mind them holding it until we are going home, I am, just wanting to be prepared

TIA

If they find you are bringing it :) back on board with you, many will hold it for you until the end of the cruise... however you will hear many stories of people who just walked right back on the ship and took their beverage with them, but many others had the cruise line hold it for them until the last day.....

One way around this is to buy two bottles or a bottle and a six pack and your husband/partner take one and you take the other. Then when the scanner person calls out "alcohol" just one of you go up to the desk and hand over which one you don't want. ;) Kiss your sweetie by and say "I'll check this in and see you in the room" and off they go with the other bottle.

Oh nice trick McDebbie. I had not heard that one. A lot of time the crew member at the scanner will tell you to go to the liquor table, but will not necessarily watch to see you do it. If there are a lot of pax reboarding the ship, confusion can cover up a lot of things :D

I have brought pint bottles back in my backpack and they did not say anything when they scanned it. Maybe they thought it was suntan lotion or they just did not care.
