Have booked the Tivua Island tour in Pt. Denarau anyone been there? Have got our name down on roll call but don't really know how it works? Hi subaru94, We are going on this cruise and have not booked anything at Port Denarau, will wait untill we have the shore tour talk and if anything "takes our fancy" we will try to book on board......otherwise we will just look around the port by ourselves. If there is nothing interesting we will go back to the boat and hang around in a bar and have a quiet drink.!!
MargnGrah Posted August 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2008 Hi again,, Just saw your name on roll call but noticed you haven't join in on the roll call forum. Go to the page where you joined the roll call, but scroll down the page a bit till you see" Roll Calls - Pacific Dawn" and click, on the new page just find our cruise and join the thread.....you will find that we are meeting at the bengal bar at 2.00pm on the 1st full day at sea. We will wear a ribbon on our shirts so you can see who we are. You wear on too and we know you are a CCer Hope this helps. :)
Ela 2 Posted August 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2008 Hi, We went independently to the Arts Village outside Suva. It was a superb day. They picked us up in a mini bus and when we returned we asked them to drop us in the middle of town. The cost for about 4 hours of shows was the equivalent of A$37.50 and transport worked out at $10 each return. You can check on their website and see the shows that make up a full day visit. The ship's visit (costing $119) is for one of these shows only. My family enjoyed the other shows even better than the firewalking/dancing one. I liked them all because they were all so different. There are full details on how to book this on the Roll-call section under Sun Princess, Pearls of Tahiti 21st October. Port Denaru - I suggest you either travel around the resorts on the free Bula bus that goes about every half hour. An alternative is to go by water taxi to one of the nearby island resorts. The timetable of the water taxi would give you a few hours on the island and have you back at Port Denaru by 3pm. There are details on this forum. subaru94 Posted August 29, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted August 29, 2008 Thank you for being so helpful we will definitely do the Arts Village in Suva, and water taxi to one of the islands, if we decide not to do the shore tour through P. & O. aussiedisneyfan Posted August 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2008 I would recommend Tivua, we had a fantastic time when we went there in 2002. We were staying in a resort not coming from a cruiseship. It was a lovely sandy island with a shelter that we had lunch under, along with a kava ceremony and I think a demonstration about turtles. We had free time to wander around and have a swim. They also took us out on glass bottom boats to look at coral and we could jump off and snorkel too. When we got our shore tour booking form there was NO option to book any of the tours for Port Denarau  I won't be happy if I get on board and find the Helicopter flights there are booked out. Since it's my birthday the day we're there and that's what I wanted to do for my birthday!

Cheers, Charmain:) Please don't remind us that in 25 sleeps we'll be getting off :( When did you get your tickets Charmain?? I had an email from my cousin during the week - she's going on that cruise and still didn't have her tickets (on Monday).... My guess is their travel agent hasn't handed them over yet - I told her she should be chasing up with them, but I just wondered if you'd got yours? Our travelling companions never filled out their passport details four our November criose & still got their tickets 7 weeks before. I have friends who are currently on the Dawn who got their rickets about 5 weeks ago and one of them (due to some stuff up) didn't even have a passport until 3 days before sailing.
