What are you in now?

Triple/Quad cabins are not very plentiful so you are behind the eightball already versus the people that have 2 in there party/cabin. :)

As you are making the sacfices to the Upgrade Fairy, keep doing the Happy Dance, singing "I Love my cabin assignment, I Love...".

According to what some people have said, when you really love your cabin selection is when you get an upgrade.

Actually with 3 people, enjoy your cruise in the cabin you have chosen. That way the Happy Dance and Happy Song will really come true.

Upgrades are not always a good upgrade.

They will move you to a cabin which is hard to sell.

Way forward or rear of boat.

This way your cabin opens up to a potential buyer.

Thus, filling up the ship.

It happened to me - I had a really nice mid-ship cabin.

I did not state "no upgrades"

Princess moved me way forward - one deck higher. (big deal)

I had a hard time getting my cabin back because the TA didn't want to do it.

I had to argue.

Lucky enough my original cabin wasn't sold.

I finally got my original cabin back.

Now, I make it clear - No Upgrades!!!!!

I was thinking the same. I got an upgrade on my first cruise to a higher category (the same type of cabin, though) and we ended up right under a dining room. We could hear the vacuuming late at night.

The last couple of cruises we decided to chose a cabin, and then we marked our booking "no upgrade." No unpleasant surprises.

....with your booking for 3 in a cabin.....those are limited and you would have to be upgraded to a cabin that could hold 4....also scarce.....I would count on sailing in what you have now.....:)

I think the chances also depend on the original cabin category that was booked. The OP didn't state that. If it's an inside, there might be a better chance to move up; if it's a minisuite, there aren't very many places to get upgraded. I think many upgrades result when couples are moved out of cabins with extra berths to make room for people who want such cabins but have been waitlisted.
