tdev32 Posted September 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2008 Hi, I've only cruised once before and have an opportunity to go for 4nights to Mexican Riviera on either Carnival Paradise or Monarch of the Seas. Both prices are similar but Monarch is slightly more. I was on the Zaandam to Alaska about 4 years ago and enjoyed it. This trip will be myself and girlfriend and we are both in our late 30's. We like good food, entertainment, a little upscale surroundings (not too much though, not too cheesy either), fun activities, nice/clean/polished public areas, and a good gym to workout in. We are not into spring break type party scenes. Any information would be great, especially from those who've travelled both Paradise and Monarch before. Thanks! mamasue Posted September 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 3, 2008 I've never sailed on the Monarch, so I might not be much help... The Monarch will meet all your requirements.... if you don't want a spring break environment (I wouldn't either.... far too old for spring break!!) I would sail anytime except spring break!!! ( I avoid school holidays too!!)
