I went out of the old one. Would much rather go out of Houston!

how much is parking going to be? any ideas? anyone know how much it was at gal? not to be funny but hopeful that parking was was not pre-pay for all those poor folks that left thier cars in Gal.....

 

IMHO, its too much in MIA. 20/day. man it kills ya. We are usually coming for Jupiter, FL and just a little to far for hired service, still cheaper for drive/park? but ya pay for the convience of being right there when you get off the ship, no shuttles, etc.

It wasnt open before, but apparantly they are going to find a way to open it by tomorrow. Both ships coming in are first going to New Orleans to go thru Customs, which Im guessing is no accident, because otherwise the Ecstasy could have come staight to Houston. Then everyone who wanted to, reboarded to travel to Houston.

 

After folks get home from coming in tomorrow, Im sure there will be posts about how the new terminal is.

I read on another thread that parking is $7 per day for a single space, but if you are driving an RV then it's $14 per day.

 

From what I've read it looks like a lovely terminal and I would like to cruise out of it a couple of times, but I love Galveston and I can't wait until that terminal opens again.

 

Bayport has its advantages though, it's very close to Kehmah which is a really neat place to hang out pre/post cruise (though I saw video's of some pretty heavy damage there too), the Space center is very close.

I heard this morning parking will be $7/day paid in advance. Parking at Galveston, EZCruise specifically, was $50 for the week if you paid on line.

About how far of a drive is it from Hobby and IAH? Flying in, getting to the Galveston port always seemed kind of expensive.

It is about a 30 minute drive (22 miles) from Hobby according to Rand McNally. We are taking a taxi--about $35 or so according to our best guestimate.

I checked its website and it looks a thousand times better than the Galveston cruise port. Why did Houston spend 81 million and not have any cruises? Please Houston get more ships including RCL and Princess. IMHO the Galveston port sucks.

Parking will be $10 a day, cash for the first week. CC there after.

 

I think Houston is trying to bring in other Cruise lines. If you build it, they will come.....

I'm an equal-distance drive from both Houston and New Orleans, so I would LOVE more choice! Houston, bring more ships and itineraries!

Kay Adams, the new terminal manager, reports they have 800 parking spaces.
