puggylicious Posted September 26, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2008 I will be going on my first Celebrity cruise shortly :) and wondered what sort of entree selections are available for dinner in the buffet.
If only Posted September 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2008 We are also on the same cruise but why would you not want to enjoy the wonderful dinners in the dining room? Shirley
firstplacechef Posted September 26, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2008 Celebrity does not have a dinner buffet. The area is turned into a casual dining area with white tablecloths at the back of the ship and offers a limited menu with service by waiters in training. All in all a very nice evening but not as formal as the main dining room.
puggylicious Posted September 26, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted September 26, 2008 On the boards there are so many postings about the menu in the dining room and it sounds really good to me. Although I do plan on dinning in the dining room. I just wondered if the selections were as good in the buffet.

You guys should come join the roll call for the Constellation sailing 10-30-08. We have a very active roll call.
JanineM Posted September 26, 2008 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2008 We really liked the casual dining option on Constellation and Summit. They would often have items that were more casual than those served in the dining room --- like Fish & Chips, Ribs, different pastas, etc. It is a great option, and they normally post the menu early in the afternoon. You do need reservations, so be sure to call if you see something you like. And please also recognize that the servers are wait staff in training, so sometimes it may not be as quick as the service in the dining room - but they are oh-so-eager to please! Lsimon Posted September 26, 2008 #7 Share Posted September 26, 2008 While the main "buffet" is closed and they have the casual dining, as discussed above, they also have some limited buffets. On our recent Connie cruise they also had serving stations outside of the sit down dining for pizza, pasta, salad bar, and nightly one of the following: Stir fry, sushi, or curry bar. Also while it is published that reservations are necessary for the sit down casual dining they often can accept walk up on a space available basis if they are not full to capacity. frankt18 Posted September 26, 2008 #9 Share Posted September 26, 2008 Actually, we liked the casual dining experience. It costs $2. The staff were quite friendly and service was excellent. The entrees are different from the main dining room, more traditional such as steak, chops, chicken etc. and the portions were larger than in the main dining room. Is this true that you pay extra for a steak in the main dining room...? What all do you pay extra for when cruising on Celebrity... ?
