San Jose del Cabo?

A taxi on your own is going to be about $40 each way. Taxi's are fairly expensive in Cabo. San Jose is a smaller, more traditional Mexican town than Cabo but it is changing as more and more resorts open up in that area and the area north of it. Don't know if I'd pay $80 to go and see it. It's a nice town and has some good restaurants but $80 is a bit much.

You could also take a "collectivo" (small public bus) to get there if you are adventurous.

We finally went to San Jose last time in Cabo. 6 of us shared a cab and payed $100 or $120 (I forget the exact total) including a tip at the end. If you do decide to do this note that the cabs that you get at the pier area will often be higher. There is usually a person that speaks English who gets a fee from the driver (AKA the middleman). You can walk on in toward Soloman's Landing Restaurant area and turn left. There are usually vans there and you can deal directly with the driver. Yes, it helps if you can speak some Spanish.

We had heard/read that it was a quaint village and thought it would be a great afternoon. We realized on the trip over that it may have been "discovered" as we passed the auto dealerships for Cadillacs, Hummers, Lexus, etc. The town itself was nice. Shops with the same old, same old. A beautiful town square and church. It was a fun afternoon but I'm glad we shared the cost. It's now in the "been there, done that" category for us.
