Bruther Posted October 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2008 We have been advised that Ecuador has a very strict policy on entrance into their country. According to our Travel Clinic, if you have been in a zone where Yellow Fever is prevalent ie Panama, you require a vaccination for Yellow Fever. This is the first that I have heard of this requirement and I would like to ask what experience other cruisers on this route have experienced. Let's face it, I don't want to, if I don't have to have the shot. Thanks for your advice
Margate Cruiser Posted October 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2008 There are some places you need your shots. You can call seabourn and they will let you know. We did the Amazon portion back to the us and we needed shots.

GrannyLorr Posted October 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Our intructions were that the Yellow Fever was only necessary to enter Brazil....but dont worry about it....didnt hurt a bit!! I am the biggest chicken when it comes to shots, but didnt even realise the nurse had stuck the thing in!!
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 9, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2008 I have found that whenever this question comes up your best advice is to contact the cruise line in this case being Seabourn. They will let you know if it is required. Keith
JaneBP Posted October 11, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 11, 2008 This is also the time to check your other adult immunizations, such as Hep A, Tetanus, Hep B, Polio and perhaps a flu shot. I think cruisers worry about the yellow fever vaccine and don't give a thought to other endemic diseases in the SA ports.
Bruther Posted October 14, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted October 14, 2008 Thanks for the CDC website referral. Have all other shots except the flu shot which we will be getting in November. Thanks again for all the advice
