astaffy Posted October 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 13, 2008 Thanks to the good advice of the cruise critics I have decided to go with Priceline and take my chances but it does ask me to select a location and I was wondering which location would be the nicest and closest proximity to the port and airport as well as some good restaurants and maybe the beach and shopping. fann1sh Posted October 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 13, 2008 From a previous thread, I believe the OP is looking for a Fort Lauderdale room. Please take a look at the betterbidding.com site, specifically the Florida Priceline page: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=78& If you are looking for the 17th Street Causeway area, that would be "downtown". Of the 3* hotels, Embassy Suites gets wonderful reviews on these boards, and I've personally stayed at Hyatt Place and found it great. Here is another thread that may help: http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showtopic=222& I'm so happy :) you're trying this way of staying in your budget! Krazy Kruizers Posted October 13, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 13, 2008 Ft Lauderdale We have stayed many times pre and post cruise at the Embassy Suites. Close to the port. Close to the airport. Harbor Shops next block -- lots of restaurants all around.
SheilaNC Posted October 13, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 13, 2008 if you go to the ports of call forum and click on Florida Departures, you are likely to get advice from those who frequent FL ports. The best way to find hotels in any location is in Ports of Call - good luck
