Notenut Posted October 20, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 20, 2008 The above are all titled 'Caribbean menu'. I wonder how much different the Mediterranean menus are, if at all. (I'll be able to answer my own question in about a month from now, but I 'd like to hear anyone's input anyhow).

AmoMondo Posted October 21, 2008 #8 Share Posted October 21, 2008 The above are all titled 'Caribbean menu'. I wonder how much different the Mediterranean menus are, if at all. (I'll be able to answer my own question in about a month from now, but I 'd like to hear anyone's input anyhow). Almost identical, except for the corned beef hash which does not make an appearance in Europe 9more's the pity!)Only other major differences at meal times are, in europe it's bottled water (which you have to pay for unless you got vouchers with your booking) and they keep the open air grills and pizzaria open slightly later in the caribbean than they do in Europe. Dinner seating times are slightly earlier 9usually about 30 minutes) in the caribbean. the only big difference that I've personally observed in menu variations with MSC was on my last Ocean voyage from Fort lauderdale to Dover, whenthey had 6 or 7 themed dinners that had food from a country other than the usual Italian (e.g. Mexico, Asia, Germany, France) The things that they really excel on (IMHO) are the ice cream, pizza, pasta, soups and appetizers. AmoMondo Posted October 23, 2008 #11 Share Posted October 23, 2008 Ohhhh--is the ice cream similar to real Italian gelato? Can't wait to be on the ship and actually eat this food. YUM! CeleBrat Absolutely - it is gelato served at the gelateria 9for an extra charge) or with lunch or dinner in the dining room every day. At the gelateria (Italian for ice cream shop) you get to choose from a variety of flavours, in the dinig room, it is the ice cream of the day. They change the flavour every day. From memory I've had rum and raisin (sometimes called malaga - no ide why); coffee; hazelnut; strawberry; chocolate and vanilla. I'm sure they do others too

I am crossing from Rio to Venice, on MSC ARMONIA, one month before you... have a good jorney!;) http://www.concais.com.br/english/index.php Thank you very much - that was very thoughtful of you. I did think about booking the cruise you are going on but as my cousin will be coming with me this time, on her first cruise, she couldn't take more than 3 weeks off work. Hope you have a fntastic time too. Arriving in Dover is very convenient for us as we live in the UK, but arriving in venice will be beautiful - it's such a wonderful city
