Thank you for the update on the Solstice. I don't recognise any of the names but then I don't know all of the names Damien O'Conner was on Solatice twice but not last year he had gone to the Eclipse I understand. See he is going to the Reflection

I am looking forward to this cruise. I did Australia and NZ on the Millie when she was out there. I then stayed on for a further 5 weeks in Perth WA where my Brother lives. This time I am taking my SIL with me she will fly from Perth to Singapore and then we will fly from Sydney on the 9th Dec to Perth where I will stay until 15th January. This will be the 3rd Christmas I have spent down under in 5 years. Missing the UK winter is pretty good given that we have had some terrible ones in those years.

You're welcome, Sue. On our first sea day, Staff Captain Tasos Kafetzis gave a lecture entitled "Secrets to Ship's Navigation." If he gives this while you are aboard, don't miss it! That man is so funny! Plus we learned a lot about the Solstice. ;)

Thanks again for the update. Can't remember the name of the CC H on the Solstice If I recall correctly she was English and very capable. I liked her!

Seems like a long time away but the way things have worked out this year not been able to fit anything else in for now.

I am very curious about the captain who will replace Captain Pagonis on Silhouette and who will replace captain Gerry now that he is no longer with X...

I guess somebody forgot to advise the CD,, HD, one of the navigational employees on the bridge....and Capt Karamouanas himself as the information was conveyed by these folks, separately . during the July 1st voyage.

Which ship is Capt Patsoulas now assigned to ?

I suppose we'll find out who's on the bridge next Sunday 5th August when CENTURY sails away .

Agree, terrific team. Sue Richardson outstanding HD and manager .. She is heading to the new ship soon but her AHD Tom would be a top pick to take over the Silhouette role. We also sailed with him on Century earlier this year.

The move to Reflection left a space on Silhouette, Captain Gerry had to be replaced so we should see three new names ...

I know of at least three first officers that have completed their masters training, so curious to see when they move up. It will be interesting as all three I know of are American....will be interesting as all three seem to be terrific hard working knowledgeable guys from talking to their Captains

First Officer (Navigation or Deck) to Safety Officer to Staff Captain to Captain.

 

It is a very long arduous road from First Officer passing the exams for the Masters License and becoming a Master.

 

Most do not make it all the way.
