I was reading in another thread that someone has been scuba diving on 20 locations. It got me wondering how many I've been to and what locations are still there to dive. Here is my list of locations:

I'm hoping to add:

We have done several land based scuba trips as well as cruises that have featured great dive spots.

We have learned that cruising makes it easy and fun to travel with family

and still include scuba diving, which is our passion.

Upcoming Trips: 7 day b2b on the Summit in December, Cancun/Puerto Morales in February and Fiji for 2 weeks in April.

I look forward to reading post from other divers that cruise. It seems that some dive ops stereotype "cruise ship" divers, we strive to change their minds. We are passionate about diving, I am just not a big fan of flying and cruising makes it possible to sample many dive locations w/o flying plus combines a dive trip with family get together.

Peace out!

Anne

  • 1 month later...

Hi Everyone - Just returned from a cruise on the East Coast of Australia (Great Barrier Reef) and Vanuatu & New Caledonia. It was incredible.

We flew up to Cairns and did a 3 day live aboard dive trip on the outer GBR. We used Prodive. They were fantastic. We did 8 dives including one night dive. Amazing.

I knew it would be wonderful but it was so much more than that. The coral was the best we have ever seen and the fish were huge and plentiful.

We also did a dive in the Whitsundays and 2 dives on the "President Coolidge" in Vanuatu. It is rated one of the top 4 wreck dives in the world. It was only 20 meters from shore!!

We are already aching to go back. We've heard about a wonderful dive to the Yongala off of Townsville which we want to do.

North Queensland is very tropical and just gorgeous. The people are incredibly friendly.

Happy diving!!

Hi Randall - Here's a couple

I loved the huge Parrotfish. On our night dive, we saw them inside the mucous balloon they blow and go inside to sleep. It was so cool.

Enormous Wrasses (bumphead, humphead, steephead, Napoleon), lionfish, schools of surgeonfish, lots of reef sharks, really friendly and gigantic rock cod. Tons of purple, pink & dark green coral. Brain coral the size of minivans. Dark red fan coral.

I could go on for hours.
