cropbug Posted October 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 23, 2008 We are tendering in Bar Harbor but want to take Oli's Trolley at 2pm (2 1/2 hour tour). We leave port at 6pm. NCL wants us onboard 2 hours before we leave port (4 pm). Are we nuts? Also, has anyone taken the 1 hour tour? Is it worth it? We are leaving this Saturday, so any input would be welcome. Thanks. travel1 Posted October 26, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 26, 2008 We took it (2 hrs) the first of the month. It was great and we were back at 4PM. They are very consicous of the ship's itinerary and the unloading area is right across from the ships dock. Jerry
eh2zed Posted October 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 29, 2008 cropbug, I would double check on the NCL 2 hour rule. Never heard of that before. Have tendered many times including Bar Harbor a few weeks ago but another line. Last tender is usually 30 minutes before departure. We did the 2 hour tour in the morning at 10. Well worth it. pjlee3333 Posted November 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 2, 2008 I agree. Please check the two hour rule. I've heard of it for the embarkation port so that the ship has time to get the information to homeland security in the required time. On the last few cruises we've taken (including the one we got off of this weekend) the time to be back on ship from port is 1/2 hour before the ship is set to leave. With a tender port you may not want to push it right to the last minute but NCL probably does have tenders running up to 5:30. They will let you know. shirljean Posted March 23, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2009 Jan in Maine, thanks for that email address. We have made, and got confirmation of, our reservations in May. One less headache, regarding tours. :)
Jan_In_Maine Posted March 24, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 24, 2009 I hope you have a wonderful time --- It is a beautiful time of the year to be in Maine. Dress in layers as it can be cool (but it could also be warm too). :) Jan
