Hey Reggie.....if you're out there

Hi Reggie

I think you said you were on the Monarch recently. How did you find her this time? Did you have a good time? How did it compare to Celebrity and particularly our fave, Mercury? I'd be interested to hear a comparison.

There's really no comparison. I do like the layout of the ship, it's very easy to get around. The refurb, now complete is very nice, the ship looks great. The service on the Monarch is very good, but with a pax ratio of
3-1, compared to the Mercury, 2-1, it falls behind. The cabins are very small, starting at about 120 sq. ft., cramped compared to the Mercury starting at around 170 sf.
The dining room is where the biggest difference was very noticeable. After several years of declining food quality on RCCL, they are making some improvements. IMHO, the food on Celebrity is far and away much better than RCCL.
The Monarch was a nice cruise and the price was right($19 [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif[/img]).
