Cigar Lounge on Paradise

I can't imagine NO SMOKING IN THE CABINS ! !

As I watch the PARADISE getting ready to pull out of Long Beach on its weekly 3-day weekend "partae" cruise, I don't think the paxs are going to stop smoking in their cabins.

But I've been wrong before. :)

I've asked this question after reading the review of the Paradise on CC's homepage. It stated that there were only two locations for smoking, the casino bar and on deck. On our previous cruises on the Elation, Ecstasy and Pride, there were several bars that had designated smoking areas including the cigar lounges at the rear of the Fantasy class ships.

When I got off the Paradise on its last no smoking cruise we were told that smoking would be in designated places only and the cabins would be "smoke free". Of course, it might be hard to enforce it but that was their intent.

Good news and bad news. Cigar smoking is now only allowed in one bar on each ship, and one side of the pool area. You can not smoke a cigar inthe casino either. I tried on multiple occasions and was told to leave. I think the biggest problem is the cigarette smokers complaining about the cigar smoke. Go figure.

In my capers its states Cigar smoking is permitted in the cigar bar or the disignated area. I dont think you can smoke cigars in your cabin but can smoke cigerettes. (but thats any ship not just the paradise)

Touche'. I'm still a little confused whether the Rotterdam Bar near the aft section of the ship is a cigar bar. Haven't been given a definite on that one yet. I myself am a non smoker, however, I do enjoy an occasional cigar with my beer while cruising.

We were on the first smoking cruise in September. We were told that smoking would only be allowed on deck (LIDO deck forward only, other decks almost everywhere) or in the casino. Dinning rooms, cabins and interior public areas were non-smoking. I recall others smoking in the Piano bar, don't recall seeing/smelling a cigar bar area.

I'm a non-smoker, thought the policy seemed reasonable. Traveled with friend who smokes, she felt the same.
