smw0621 Posted November 18, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Does anyone know if a alcohol package is offered on Royal Caribbean (AOS)? We have a large group going and were told by our TA that every person in the group has to participate in order to get the group alcohol package but not everyone is interested. I heard that they'll put a dot on your sea pass card like they do for the soda package. Thanks.
clwnmt2 Posted November 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 18, 2008 I have heard of this. It was about 5 or 6 years ago. We did not do it but there was a group from a tavern in Green Bay Wisconsin and they did and you could always find them. Some of them were kicked off because of excess partying. Of course this is what we were told. Every time we said we were from Wisconsin people thought that we were with that group. We like to drink but WOW! We were told it was about 250.00 per person and like I said that was a while ago and it probably has gone up by now. When the casino closed on their tabs on the last night one woman ordered 3 drinks and was so bad at that time my brother-in-law never thought he would see her the next day but she did get off the ship. I hope it all works out for you and you have a great vacation.
madforcruising Posted November 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 18, 2008 There is a Liquor package offered, but it´s only for groups of a min. of 50 guests and it MUST be purchased by ALL group members. Not sure if the prices I have are still up to date, but they were $49 per person per day for house and call brand liquors or $59 per person per day for houes, call and premium brand liquors. smw0621 Posted November 18, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 18, 2008 That's the package we were told about too, you have to have a group of at least 50 people (which we do) and everyone has to be included in the package (which we don't have). I was just wondering if there was any other kind of alcohol package offered.

BoozinNCruisin Posted November 18, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 18, 2008 What if you have 75 people going on the cruise and 18 are kids. Do the kids have to purchase the package as well or just the adults because if the kids have to pay that price in order for everyone to get the package then it is not worth it at all! We are looking to have our wedding and take the whole family with and have a huge celebration and are trying to get as much information on this as possible!!! AllieInMD Posted November 18, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 18, 2008 Don't use RCCL's wedding services - never seen a single post that was it being a positive experience! Evidently the company that handles it for them has a very very low BBB rating and lots of bad history. IEddy Posted November 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 18, 2008 We were married on the Mariner of the Seas October of ‘05…. Nothing but good things to say. There are plenty of threads on Royal Romance and there are those that have had less than stellar experience. Personally, I would use them again in a heartbeat. We had top shelf open bar for two hours after the ceremony for the wedding party and it was per person per hour, we got more than our money’s worth….. :)
BoozinNCruisin Posted November 18, 2008 #9 Share Posted November 18, 2008 We would want our open bar throughout the whole cruise as our family has alot of big drinkers and it would make the cruise all the more fun!
IEddy Posted November 19, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 19, 2008 I completely understand :) I have heard of these group packages. I did some research a while ago and there are travel agents that group people together that want to take advantage of the unlimited beveraging, but the only ones I could find were on Carnival. smw0621 Posted November 19, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted November 19, 2008 We heard back from RC and they only told us about the wine package....I'm not sure what happens with people under 18, since we don't have any in our group we never asked. Are you asking if the kids can purchase the adults alcohol package? Umm, that'd be a NO. All those who purchase the group alcohol package must be 21 or over. I don't suppose this will work in your case.
