water temp in PV 1st week Feb?

My husband and I have cruised many times (about 25) but never to MR. Is it too cold to snorkle in Feb? I know not to expect Carribean temps, but how cold does it get? Thanks so much for the info!!!

I guess it all depends on what temps you are used to swimming in ...

 

The various dive/snorkel sites seem to agree with -

 

VISIBILITY & WATER TEMPERATURE

December - May 25 ft. to 50 ft. 68º F to 75º F

June - November 50 ft. to 90 ft 78º F to 85º F

We went to the MR Jan 20/06...the weather was unusually cool that year but swimming/snorkeling was ok in PV even on a cloudy day. As it turned out, the hottest, sunniest day was in Cabo on the return trip. You should be ok the first week of Feb. Have fun!

I did a spring break trip to PV one year (only a month after what you're looking at). It was so hot outside, I could've cared less what the beach temp was - it felt wonderful, and I do NOT like cold water!!

It's chilly, but it doesn't seem to bother young people. We usually wear half wetsuit snorkeling and are thankful we have them.

For those who do not want to snorkel but want to swim at resorts with pools & beaches--is this a bad time of year?

 

We are booked for April but our cruise line may cancel it & only other dates we could go are in january--will it be worth it--Our cruise has typical Mex riv ports? Cabo. Mazatlan PV Acapulco..

Pools should be fine in January. Ocean is cool, but still swimmable. It depends on how far south you go. Ocean in Acapulco would be warm, but Cabo is usually chilly, but inside the Sea of Cortez should be very comfortable.
