4 days and no pics from aplmac!

Got any more beach pics? ===> I thought this was dead!

OK so we went to Speightstown for an Art Show on Saturday evening.

I sent Her in, while I snuck out onto the beach and got these two for you. :D

By the time the lighting gets like this, though

you'll be on the horizon looking at Barbados fading away fast...just a pleasant memory

and on to your next stop Thursday...St.Lucia.

I've been shooting a lot of Boardwalk shots these last 2 weeks.

If you're on Facebook,

you might take a look at the new BARBADOS BOARDWALK group..

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=46787187730

In two short weeks, it's attracted over 460 members!

just a note: Alpmac: thanks for the pics. We're just back

and the first thought when we opened our stateroom...

"It's just like Aplmac's pictures" including The Pink Bathroom.

What? This?

What Cabin number were you in?

We've been assigned 6207 for our quickie Apr.21-24 cruise out of Barbados -it's riiiight up front!

What did you guys do in St. Kitts?
Doesn't sound like you're the older/mature historical type(?)

but if you are, Brimstone Hill Fortress is quite interesting

and of course you get the Western half-the-island tour getting there, and back..

we stopped thru here on the way up to Brimstone Hill.

They make amazing stuff at Caribelle!

Yep, that's the one! Ah it makes me homesick...No one told me that once you got on shore (or back at my office) the world keeps rocking back and forth. I was fine on the ship but could use a bonine today!!

We were in 9242-liked the Lido because you were right where all the action is, and not much above you to disturb.

Loved your island and your water but saw much of it from the SilverMoon. Priceless.

St. Kitts is the last day and you will be tired. We took a cab to Cockelshell. Nice scenic drive then beach time. Good music.

You liked the Lido because of this...

Tell the truth! :D:D

Did you notice the fancy overhead skylight right in the center of the Lido?

I turned around from that Dessert Table, looked up and wow! there it was!

we did a catamaran in Barbados and it was our best day. Can't go wrong. It's hard to know if you should prebook. We did because we wanted a small one with just our group. But if the weather is bad....You could check to see how many ships are in port that day.

we had a 12 passenger and the best service ever. You are a lucky man to live there!
I go down to the Port area when ships are coming in..

take their picture.

Great thread - thanks for posting the amazing photos..

Aplmac - where is Lobster Alive? I have been to Barbados a few times and have never seen it. Is it anywhere near Brown Sugar restaurant? We are thinking of taking this cruise in Sept and boarding in Barbados as we live in the UK (direct flight)...any differences we need to know for embarkation?

Thanks so much for your help....

Is it anywhere near Brown Sugar restaurant? ===> Sort of..

You passed right by Lobster Alive on your way to Brown Sugar!

(on one's way out of Bridgetown, heading towards the S.Coast, that is)

If you know where Boatyard is, then Lobster Alive is right next door

except for an open spot of land that serves as a window-to-the-sea with a big tree on it..!

Lobster Alive and Boatyard are both on the sprawling 2 mile long Carlisle Bay beach

so there's never any crowding.

Aplemac, did you read my post on another thread about Rockley? On 2/3 a gal in our group listened to our driver and at the last minute, leaving the caves, we were diverted to Surfside(?) instead of the beach I dreamed about walking on for the past 3 months and was robbed of that wonderful Indian food. I vow to return and walk that beach!!!!!! Kaboochi

do any of you "Victory" folks know if the outlet in the bathroom works if the light is turned off? I want to use a regular night light plugged in there.

BTW: Did you hear about the sunken ship they found in the English Channel HMS Victory

we tried that...it's a different voltage, the night light doesn't work at the desk either unless you have a tiny night light. we found that enough light shines underneath the door from the hall. hope this helps!

Yes, I saw that thread, and I responded too!

Don't let the taxi drivers tell you where to go.

Surfside gives him a little something for taking you there.

he doesn't give a damn where you want to go

he goes where the money's waiting for him.

Well now! If that's you ^^^ in the black bikini, go ahead and post all the pics you want of yourself! :D
This is one of the advantages of Rockley/Accra over other Barbados beaches -the 'scenery'

I was shooting surf-on-the sand type shots at Accra

Accra-34.jpg

there they are...in the far distance..

when this couple walked up the beach towards me. I kept on shooting

Rockley-037.jpg

and let me tell you, she wasn't exactly a Spring Chicken.

I'd love to have seen her when she was 25!
