cable Posted November 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2008 As the title implies, we are cruising 12/20-12/24 on the Century and need a little help with the fuel surcharge policy. As I understand, no matter how low oil goes or how long it remains there, we have no way to get the fuel surcharge refunded?? This hardly seems fair that cruises departing 01/2009 or later are eligible for a refund but 12/2008 is not?? If I would have known this, I would have waited 10 more days to cruise and been eligible for the refund! Is anybody else cruising in Dec peeved about this? Rare geoherb Posted November 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 28, 2008 I just booked us on the Dec. 20 cruise of Century. I knew upfront that the fuel surcharge was part of the price we are paying. It's still cheaper per night than any cruise we've taken recently. Since gas is below $2 a gallon, we are planning on driving down for this cruise. We'll save a ton on gas and not worry about the $80 fuel surcharge for the cruise.
