Cigar Dude Posted December 18, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 18, 2008 We have been to Barbados many times, but still haven't found a favorite beach. Any suggestions? Peg I'd like to know too. How far is your favorite from the ship's dock? Tell what you liked about it!

Cigar Dude Posted January 2, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks Aplmac! I think we'll check out Accra/Rockley. You say it's close to the ship. Can we take a taxi there? I believe you also said (in another thread) that there are facilities there and food/drinks?
Aplmac Posted January 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2009 Thanks Aplmac! I think we'll check out Accra/Rockley. You say it's close to the ship. Can we take a taxi there? ===> Yes. I believe you also said (in another thread) that there are facilities there and food/drinks? Accra is cool enough -even for you, CD Yes, a taxi from the Port to Accra/Rockley Beach should take no longer than 15 mins. (although I'm not sure about what the fare would be) ..and yes, there's food and drink, even some shopping nearby Chefette fast-food across the street (with the City-bound bus stop in between) where they make good Pizza and ROTI..so you won't starve or dehydrate, trust me! :D We get very few complaints about 'Accra' as we call it. Tell your driver to take you to the beach - not to the hotel by that name(Accra)....properly it's Rockley Beach but locals have always referred to the beach by the name of the hotel(don't ask) This is one place where getting back to Bridgetown by bus is easy, if you care to do 'the adventurous thing' with local flavour -and rocking music

Aplmac Posted January 3, 2009 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2009 How do you get to the bus from where the cruise ships dock and any idea how much the fare would be? You'd be well advised to taxi it there (to save time) and bus it back to Bridgetown and your ship. Bus fares -all over the island- are Bds.$1.50 per person = 75cents U.S.currency ___________________________________ OMG -where is that? cemor66 Posted January 4, 2009 #10 Share Posted January 4, 2009 Aplmac...great pic's. I just tried posting a test picture in another forum and it only let me post a thumbnail. Could you give me some pointers on posting at or near the size of your picture's. I'm sailing 1/11 and would like to post some picture's with my daily report. Thanks...CeMor
Aplmac Posted January 5, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 5, 2009 Aplmac...great pic's. ===> Thank you. They say a thousand words.I just tried posting a test picture in another forum and it only let me post a thumbnail. Could you give me some pointers on posting at or near the size of your picture's. These large size photos of mine are linked to already-established stashes of photos I have at either the Cruisecritic.com Photo Gallery or at my Photobucket account. That's the trick -to have biggies posted up somewhere already and these are just links to them. Along the South Coast boardwalk!
