Ryffian Posted December 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2008 Has anyone tried the Smooth Away hair removal buffing pads? Seems like they'd be super easy for a cruise, if they work. (https://www.getsmoothaway.com ... head's up if you follow the link, it starts playing a video, and it's a little loud;) )
jp2001 Posted December 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 15, 2008 I really don't understand how that could work but if someone has tried it, I'd like to hear about it.
bobandkelly Posted December 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2008 This looks like something my mom tried years ago. Unless they've made some changes don't expect much. It did not work and she did not have alot of hair on her legs. Kelly
cb at sea Posted December 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2008 It won't last any longer than shaving, since you're just removing hair from the surface of the skin--and it'll make your tan go away faster....since you're exfoliating like mad! I have some exfoliating cream that I use (occassionally) and it will remove patches of hair, too.
nilsbyy Posted December 16, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 16, 2008 If you're talking about what I think you are, I've tried them a few years ago. They're sort of like sandpaper, and you're supposed to rub them on your skin, right? I found that a) they didn't remove any hair, and b) they were really irritating to my skin. I'm sure that they must work properly for someone, somewhere, since they're still selling them, but it certainly isn't me!
tamaram26 Posted December 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 16, 2008 They did a demonstration of those on The View a couple of months ago. Sherry Sheppard did not seem to be impressed. Plus, it looked like it scratched up her skin making it look really dry in the area they rubbed.
nrs377 Posted March 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Tried one that I had bought my DD and it didn't remove any hair, and it made my skin look flaky like dry skin. I'd give a thumbs down.
wvliz Posted March 14, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 14, 2011 I tried once once, just on my arm - it did nothing!
two4me Posted March 14, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 14, 2011 I tried those, sure works on legs if you have alot of time just to sit and rub in a circle. Did irritate the skin slightly.BUT don't use them on your arm pits as it almost burns and red. (it says to use small ones on arm pits) Did not remove hair. Save your money and try a cream remover if you do not want to use a razor. With creams, again it depends on your skin. Some to me irritate my skin, so found one that works for me. As someone posted - both thumbs down on that product.
boop3 Posted March 14, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 14, 2011 I have used it and it seems to work better when my hair was a little longer. Nothing beats shaving cream and razors for me. I also use it when in a hurry. I just bought some today for 1.99 at the Christmas Tree shops. Nora
