White sand beaches close to pier

I would greatly appreciate anyone advising as to some nice white sand beaches with calm water close to the pier.

No you will not find white sand beaches near the pier - Dominica is actually famous for black sand beaches, and nearest one is about 20-30 minutes away - Mero beach I think is the name of it.

 

You are really missing experiencing Dominica if you just look for a beach though - take a trip in land and see the water falls or at least walk over to the Botanical Garden which is near the pier.

Your white-sand-beaches days are Antigua and Barbados.

 

If you want a pink-sand day...Barbados on its South and South East coasts.
