Shipyard Cruiser Posted December 19, 2008 #28 Share Posted December 19, 2008 What a shock to see that you were getting snow!! It rained here, but nothing like you had. What amazes me.......is that they are charging less for the Monarch in Florida than they did in Los Angeles. In 2005.........the two "cash cows" in RCCL were the Sovereign and Monarch. What dried up??? I think that corporate is making a very big gamble.......that the Med market is larger than here is the USA........where Royal Caribbean started making money. I gotta believe that Mickey Arison........is LHMO.......with Monarch gone, it's only the Paradise. Carnival might as well bring on a ship that holds more........as they are THE only game in town!! Rick Carnival did. The Elation is going to start 3/4 nights from San Diego soon Thursday/Sunday and Sunday/Thursday. Overall Carnival Corp has put a lot more effort into the SOCAL market then RCI. Seems a shame as we loved the Moranch.

If Carnival were not making money on the shorter runs in Southern California...............why would they step up from the Paradise to a much nicer ship??? In this economy.......people can still afford the 3 night/4 night getaways. Thanks for the update!! And now that I have read the update........the Elation is joining the Paradise........doubling the capacity of passengers in the Southern California region. Interesting that it's going out from San Diego.....giving people a choice. Why would any company do that ...............unless..........they make money!! rednancy1 Posted December 19, 2008 #31 Share Posted December 19, 2008 It's pretty cold here too! This was the picture from our driveway this am. I'm just glad I can look at it and not have to shovel it. ;) This cold weather makes me want to go on a cruise to someplace that warm!!! Sue, What a beautiful view. Your mountains look just like my mountains. :D In fact, if you add some palm trees and add desert landscaping (no grass) this could be our neighborhood.
