That's funny, KK! At least many of the switches in this one were labeled!

We did get it down to a system -- Told DH not to touch anything while I worked the switches -- after a couple of days -- we knew what switch turned off, etc.

Thankfully on the other ships that we have sailed on, the Penthouses did have the switches labled.

Great job of relating your recent cruise. My wife and I are die hard Holland America cruisers. We'll be sailing at the end of January on the Oosterdam to the Mexican Riveria. It'll also be our first stay in the Penthouse Suite, I'm a little jazzed! (We generally stay in an SA or SB suite) So, your remarks were much appreciated. We're heading out on the Eurodam ( Canada cruise in Fall) again this summer to Copenhagen for 10 days of Northern Europe. If any members have some info on Warnmunde to Berlin or Kiel to Hamburg, I would appreciate the heck out of it. Actually, any info would be great.

And it is lovely! On the first formal night when you opened it up to get your camera, I thought "Well she has a HAL purse!" Then you showed it to me. Clever idea!

I would like to thank you for your photos of the penthouse suite.

We have just received an upgrade to a penthouse suite on the Zuiderdam for 2/7/09. I searched for photos of the penthouse suite and found yours.

From your experience are there any perks to the PS that are not advertised. Is there anything we should know about or look for that wouldn't normally be obvious to us?

Hi Nancy,

 

Congrats on your upgrade! You will love the penthouse. Hmm, I can't think of any perks not advertised, except that you get escorted to your suite at embarkation. I would suggest you take some CDs along because you will probably have the soundsystem that goes all through the cabin and outside. Order room service and they will set up your table inside or on the verandah. Try having a sailaway party one night.
