Hi Guys,

I am travelling on the NOS on a back to back cruise 12th & 17th Jan and wondered if anyone knew what day the formal nights are on these 2 five night cruises. Also as we are staying in the same cabin for both cruises ,am I right in thinking we don't have to pack up just clear customs when we dock back into FLL inbetween both cruises??

I am planning to visit Fort Lauderdale for the day any suggestions where to go we are a group of 8 aged between 38-42 from the UK. Last thing are the stabilers fixed as one friend really suffers from sea sickness!!!!

She goes into dry dock at the end of your cruise (the 22nd) so stabilisers won't be fixed. However, its a big ship so if the seas are bad enough to move it about, stabilisers would not make a great difference. They only stop the ship rolling so much, they don't affect pitching. She does have one set of stabilisers still working, so it shouldn't be too bad. As you are in the same cabin, you don't have to pack, but tell your steward just so they know you won't be moving out (although they should know). You will probably have to meet up somewhere and be escorted off the ship then back on again..then the day is yours. Another tip, changeover day is a good day to have breakfast in the dining room. The Windjammer will not only be packed with people, but most of them will have a bag in tow as well, which makes it all a bit congested!

are you saying the ship will be redone by late Feb 2009??

 

 

B2B are easy takes around 30 minutes to wait to leave the ship and go thru customs with your Pastport as an American. I would think just as easy for a brit.

 

FLL

 

Besides the shopping and the beach.. more shopping...great restuarants, Science or Art Museums. Food- Las Olas BLVD and Riverwalk. There is theatre but you have to get back to the ship to early for a stage play.

If I remember correctly, she is in dry dock 22-27 Jan.

Jan 29-Feb 5 she is scheduled for dry dock. First cruise after dry dock will be on Feb 5

Yep, sorry my mistake...I was looking at a post with the old schedule. Its Jan 29 - Feb 5.

If you grab a cab outside ask to be taken to Las Olas Blvd. There you can take a water taxi on/off all along the intercostal. You can get off to shop/eat or just walk around. (beautiful shops and good restaurants) You get to see how the other half lives in the mansions along the water. The water taxi is about $10/12 pp and good for all day. So ask the Loyalty Ambassador about getting off early and staying off until no later than 2pm I'd say as you have to be on 2 hours before departure "I Think". I know if you get on/off/on for BTB someone will take you off and bring you right back on (I'm doing it on 22nd/24th Nav) but not sure you have to do it this way if you want to see Fort Lauderdale.

Just came back from B2B cruises on the Navigator..

 

Formal nights should be the 13th and the 18th, both the first Sea Days...

 

We did experience some rocking on the two cruises.. so it's hard to tell. all depends on the weather.. have your friend use the path BEFORE they get on the cruise, once your sick it's too late...

 

You will meet in the Champagne Bar (Deck 5) and then you'll be the last to be escorted off the ship, they give you your new SailPass cards and you go right back on... we were delayed so didn't get much time to enjoy the ship by my self, so hopefully it will be better for you... all you should need are your passports and your old sailpass cards (to log out)

 

I did not get to spend any time in Fort Lauderdale before I went on my cruise, so can't recommend anything in particular, but in the hotel lobby there will be info on things to do and see..
