"...the general public doesn't need to know everything. I think it's time to stop speculating, let the professionals determine what happened and let the family grieve in peace. "

Good luck with that, kasil. There's a reason why CSI and Without A Trace are so popular. Morbid curiosity - and this time it hits verrry close to home, albeit asea.

If the FBI doesn't consider the husband a suspect, either they know something we don't or they don't have enough evidence to place him in the room at the time. Either way, the general public doesn't need to know everything. I think it's time to stop speculating, let the professionals determine what happened and let the family grieve in peace.

I agree! But what do you call this?:

y'no, I wonder if she was a CC poster. This whole 22 page conversation might actually be about someone we know (at least in an online sense.)

I've wondered the same thing. It's ghastly. I am an advanced SCUBA diver, and love water - and yet can imagine few things more horrible than being lost at sea - regardless of whether or not I jumped, fell or was pushed. It would be absolutely terrifying, especially in the middle of the night. Bless her heart. It is a horrible thought.

I am so mad and irritated with the piece on the TODAY show. Just because that couple happened to have an encounter with the husband about the coins and the casino, they deserved to bad mouth him on live TV?? They didn't even know them!!

Leave the investigating to the FBI PLEASE!!

It is rightly called 'junk journalism' for a reason. If ONLY everyone who feels such tacky behavior is repugnant would contact the network officials and the CEOs of some of the sponsors and tell them so. Like government, we seem to deserve the television we get. Crap in both cases, sadly.

I actually don't think that's strange either... though I do agree that it may not have happened. I think the human mind can do all sorts of things that don't make sense, especially when one has experienced a trauma. He could have been wandering around in shock, or just finding something to occupy his attention so that he didn't have to think about what was happening - and there may well have been people in his room at all hours. I honestly can't say what I would do, and thank goodness I am confident I'll never have to find out.

You know something I haven't seen mentioned (although with this many pages I may have missed it) is the fact that IF this woman actually killed herself, it could be understandable that the husband would go through an anger phase. Sure at first devistated more than likely, but I believe anger is one of the steps in the grieving process. Maybe IF he was seen going to the casino.. well.. maybe he was angry at her for doing that to herself and the family. I can see that being a valid emotion in this situtation. Maybe he said "well to hell with her... I'm going to go have some fun". We might be shocked at that, but I do think it is a possibility.

Personally I do not believe the report of him going to the casino, but just saying if he did, who knows what was going through his mind. Until we KNOW he did something to her, I think he deserves our sympathy as much as anyone else.

Commentary: Notice that there is no mention of what Ray Seitz does for a living. Did he work? He certainly looks like a scary guy. He could star in one of those Jason or Michael Myers movies with those dead eyes. He also abused his wife, and if he did not kill her, you have to wonder how much her decision to commit suicide was due to being in a crappy relationship? Bariatric surgery and weight loss did not change this poor woman's life. Whatever she was missing did not improve when she lost weight. We all need to deal with the hole in our souls (the need for God, etc.), and that is more important than losing a few pounds or going on a cruise!

Don't have time to read the whole thread, but he must have been kinda nice to her, as he let her mother stay in the same cabin with them on their one year anniversary. Surely if he planned on throwing her overboard, he wouldn't have let the mother come along.

I guess Greda and Geraldo learned their lesson so Fox is using a guest host to stir the pot.

Wow. My main question is was it the regular size or value pack of Cracker Jacks that this lady found her jounalism credentials? She sounded no different from many here that want to shortcut the professional investigative process by trying to put words in the FBI guys mouth. When she couldn't get that she went trolling for someone who new someone that said they overheard someone say they had heard someone say something about it. OMG - they were enjoying themselves at a show - how awful - what rowdy people!

That interview and the majority of these last 25 pages are living proof of why they should not have made a shipwide announcement and why we have a trial system in our courts with an evidentuary process built in.

Another video interview with a passenger.

At least she had nothing but good things to say about the couple. NCL however ruined the rest of her cruise buy responding to all her questions with no comment and not turning back to look for Jennifer.

My husband committed suicide, that is usually the first thing I think of when someone says "someone fell off a cruise ship". I don't think people realize how often suicides happen. It is a taboo topic and is not openly discussed.....

I worry about my kids all the time as well, they are 14 and 16 now and seem to be doing well (our incident was 5 years ago) but I have read books that say it is more likely to repeat so I keep a close eye on them.

My heart goes out to the family.

If you have any inkling they have depression-just get them counseling.

One thing about about my ex BIL-he had a bad car wreck in the early 70's and got hooked up pain killers which he battled the rest of his life. He became very hard to live with-him and my sister were actually married TWICE. She feels a lot of guilt because the week before he killed himself; he had called her and tried to get her to remarry him again.

His niece, of course was despondent about her daughter's death-and they knew it-and were afraid she would kill herself-they had hovered around her for months, but someone could not always be with her-they all worked.

Her daughter was the shocker-the girl was only 20-and they had no clue that she was depressed. My heart really goes out to her husband. He lost his daughter and then less than 2 years later, he also lost his wife. How horrible.

Or "Yellow Journalism"

Yellow journalism is a type of journalism that downplays legitimate news in favor of eye-catching headlines that sell more newspapers. It may feature exaggerations of news events, scandal-mongering, sensationalism, or unprofessional practices by news media organizations or journalists.

Ray has worked for a parking construction and maintenance company as a mechanic for the past five years. There are exclusive pictures, interviews with family and friends and information about what happened the night Jennifer disappeared on this website:

"Out of curioisity...since there is alot of medical chatter...was she actually diagnosed by a doctor with bipolar or did the family say that as a means of describing her personality? I may have missed this in the 25+ pages."

From what I have read, they indicated that she had not been taking her medicine - so that sounds to me that she had been diagnosed by a physician and given medication.

Accordion to the "Hippo act" we may never know

Family members I have spoken to are not aware of an official diagnosis of bipolar disorder, although one family member said “Her highs were really high and her lows were rock bottom. Add alcohol and that’s a serious recipe for disaster.”

Derf, I can't find your post but didn't you say she was in a mini suite-stateroom number 11622? I remembered that because we were in 11632-and 11622 was right across from the elevators and staircase-I remember passing it every time I came from the stairs. I spent lots of time up in the Garden Cafe grabbing cappuccinos.

I'm not the one who said he was headed to the casino. The AP news story stated that. A passenger was quoted as seeing and speaking to the husband in the hallway as he (the husband) went to the casino with a bag of money-the day after she was missing.

No, I've never had a husband disappear off a cruise ship, but I do know, without a doubt that I wouldn't head to the casino the next day. As some have stated, people deal with grief and dispair in different ways. I can assure anyone here that I would definitely not be headed to the casino or the theater to catch the show after such an incident. It's not in my nature. I would be hysterical.

I don't think the husband had anything to do with it. I think he just didn't care...very much. If the woman had the long standing mental health issues as the family reported, then I'm guessing he was worn down by her problems and was probably relieved she ended it...it's sad to say.

Lovesublime, I know you werent the one making the comment, I just happened to respond to your post that I agreed with your comment then I got a little carried away

Mu apologies, sorry---it was definitely not directed at you.

Interesting discussion...........made me realize how quick I was to judge the husband for going to the casino - he may have been told to stay out of the cabin for a while - and not to talk to other guests about the event. Made me think - where would I go? I would not want to go to a bar - too much chance of drinking too much. Also, he was on the Almost Newlywed Game - so someone could have easily recognized him and tried to start a converstation. Most the on board activities would be "wrong" too. Sometimes chairs (especially on sea days) are hard to find if you would prefer privacy.

There's a chance someone would decide to go to the casino and sit in front of the slot machines - there is noise and activity, but actually there is relative privacy. Not saying that this is what happened, but I can see where an innocent person might decide to do this. The comment that he was hoping to change his luck could have meant anything - especially if he was distraught since everyone reacts to death differently.

Just a thought. My sympathy goes out to the family.

Carol

Its ok, we all had alot to say and comments and passes judgement here, I personally would say I would be devastated but I guess none of us could really say how we would react in such a situation.

--Its sad how many take their own lives, if it were me I think I would have at least left a suicide note then to put my family through the accusations and ridicule. Thats just me., always sparing someone else. Actually I wouldnt have the guts to jump, I would find an easier way to do it.

I dont know who is worse off the poor girl or the family...Imagine what is going through their head....
