LHC Posted December 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted December 28, 2008 Can you make a deal or get a savings when doing a back to back? Linda
RuthC Posted December 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Sometimes HAL combines two cruises and also offers them as a single cruise. In those cases the price is less than the two individual cruises purchased separately. But otherwise, no. There usually is no cruise price benefit to b-2-b cruises. tomc Posted December 29, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 29, 2008 No, but you can get the satisfaction of watching people gathered in lounges waiting for their numbers to be called, the satisfaction of watching them walking out to buses, the satisfaction of knowing they will be sleeping in their own beds tonight, while you are still on the cruise! gloat, gloat, gloat. :p
sail7seas Posted December 29, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Actually, HAL has been giving a small additional discount for people who book back-to-backs. We book many of them and the Code to ask for this discount is: ZC
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 29, 2008 #5 Share Posted December 29, 2008 On our last back-to-back and our up-coming back-to-back cruises we have gotten some discount -- not much -- but it is a discount.
NevadaHiRoller Posted December 29, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Also, sometimes if you don't plan a B2B and you are on the ship and it isn't filled for the next week, they offer you some bargains to stay on.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 29, 2008 #7 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Never had that happen. Guess because all the cruises we have been on have been sold out weeks before sailing.
sail7seas Posted December 29, 2008 #8 Share Posted December 29, 2008 Also, sometimes if you don't plan a B2B and you are on the ship and it isn't filled for the next week, they offer you some bargains to stay on. We saw that happen a few times especially not long after 9-11. Within the last year and a half or so, I seem to think we were on a ship when they offered some cabins for the next cruise at a very reasonable rate. That works great for retired folks who drove to the port. :)
LHC Posted December 29, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted December 29, 2008 I am looking at either the Prisendam or B2B Eurodam in December of 09. Either way they are expensive but with 12 months out doable for this RN. Thanks for the help. Linda
sail7seas Posted December 29, 2008 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2008 You're welcome. The b-to-b discount is not that great but every little bit helps. :)
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 30, 2008 #11 Share Posted December 30, 2008 We sailed in Oct after 9/11 -- a 10 day Sea of Cortez cruise. We wanted to stay on -- had even checked 4 months before 9/11 -- no cabins available -- and nothing changed once we were on the ship.
