Wheelchair boarding

Hi all,

I've searched and searched and can't find the answer to this question. Is there a special way that passengers in a wheelchair are boarded other than going up the ramp?

Thanks in advance for you input.

What ship and port? It may vary by ship and terminal. In Jacksonville, on Celebration we had to go up the ramp, but for Fascination, we boarded at dock level. EM

And are you just talking about the embarkation port or all of the ports of call? In Ft. Lauderdale on the Liberty people in WC's used the ramp just like everyone else.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. The Conquest out of Galveston. When we sailed the Grand Princess out of there we had to climb some stairs and then walk a long ramp to board.

I'm not too concerned about getting off and on at the ports because the ramps are normally quite short and near pier level. We won't even attempt a port where we have to tender.

Thanks again for any help you can give me.
