davidnsteph Posted January 17, 2009 #51 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Shogun, We're really enjoying reading your ongoing review. Very entertaining. We loved the Sea Princess, and we'll hopefully find another opportunity to cruise on her again. DavidnSteph

FunForUs Posted January 17, 2009 #53 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Hi, What kind of activities do they have during the day on the Sea Princess? Hopefully they have Trivia? We are looking at an Alaska cruise out of San Francisco. Thanks for all of the information that you are sharing, Shirley
nailsmhc79 Posted January 17, 2009 #54 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Hi Shogun I'm really enjoying reading your posts. From what I can gather the Sea Princess will be in drydock in San Francisco starting September 10 or so up till our September 25 Panama Canal cruise. Would really appreciate if you could verify those dates and if anyone can enlighten us to what will be done to the ship during the drydocking. So today three times I was not in my chair when they patroled but I was there on there next so after each ticket so my stuff was not removed. Just won at the Casino not happy won on a progressive machine so got the jackpot, but could of got less for less points as progressive was won last week and had not had time to build up. yours Shogun
Thank you for the answer, now I know. We didn't have that problem when we cruised on the Sea Princess in October the temps during the day were from 30F to 50F. Not to many brave souls sitting around out by the pool. Also, how the size of the casino compares to the Emerald Princess, Crown Princess etc. Interested as we shall be on Sea P next year. Have a wonderful time.:D Glenda and Tony
Shogun Posted January 18, 2009 Author #59 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Hi there all, Casino is smallest in the fleet, Princess reckons Brits do not like to gamble, Machines are not as good as Emerald, However tables there is at least one of every game type. Today while in lift Alarm went of saying get off at next stop, at first some folk were concerned at hearing the alarm, but as lift is the on used by doctors worked out, that as soon as we got of it went straight to deck 4 then straight to 14 lift was locked out for a short time. Rant time, sitting here it was muster drill a couple got up to go and an old bloke said sit down its a waste of time ship is not going to sink, so that sat down, Princess needs to do more to get folk to go to muster drill. How about only issuing life jackets to you at muster drill, that way we can see if these muppets can swim, Montego Bay today did ships tour very nice river rafting, lunch, tour of bannana plantation free drinks etc. There were Police at the Estate and guards following us about, we stopped at shops on way back again it was gated to keep locals out. Not sure how safe this stop is shopping girl was giving out list of do not go here do not do this etc. May be ship tours or good local tours is the way to go. New folk very much same as last lot the newly wed or nearly dead, Ok may be not as bad but you get the idea. Will ask about dry dock, try and post tomorrow details. yours Shogun

pretenda Posted January 18, 2009 #63 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Yes I know - I've sailed on her as Adonia so am familiar with the layout - but thought Princess might have added in a few more slots after she transeferred back. Was also on PandO Oceana last year which is the same class ship - not much of a casino on that either! Oh well, think I'll cope!:) G&T

caber Posted January 18, 2009 #65 Share Posted January 18, 2009 Hi Shogun, Just to let you know we arrived home safely. Good journey apart from a little turbulance (quite scarey). It was nice to meet you and Mrs Shogun and put a face to the name. Enjoy the rest of your cruise and say hi to the other cc folks. Look after Sea Princess for us. We had a great cruise. :):):)

Incorrect. The ship was built for the North American market and launched as Sea Princess. She was transferred to P&O for a time (as Adonia) and has now returned to Princess as Sea Princess. She is marketed heavily in the UK because she offers a 14 night Caribbean cruise with a UK-friendly port of embarkation in Barbados.

Shogun Posted January 19, 2009 Author #75 Share Posted January 19, 2009 Hi All, Head waiter came to table last night for a chat asked if we liked food etc, then offered to get Chef to cook anything we wanted for to night, so what exotic meal are we having meat balls, well its what one of our table wanted so we all agreed. Walked through casino last night put $1 into machine and $60 came out so walked away happy. In port of Curaco not docking down town any more using pier 15 minute walk from down town, so not to far two other ships in today. As first port for new comers massive ques to get off but moving quickly, so wait is only a few minutes. Chat latter yours Shogun
