3 Dog Night Posted January 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2009 Traveling on the Serenade in late March and I have a few questions: - Is there a soft drink card available? What is the cost? - On past cruises, we've really enjoyed "piano bar" settings. Does this ship have one? - Our cruise is booked over the NCAA Basketball tournament. Wondering if CBS is picked up on the ship either in the staterooms or in a sports bar on the ship. - Is there a shallow pool that's a little quieter location for enjoying tanning? Thanks for any information!
alicam Posted January 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2009 yes...there is a soda card...about $6.00 per day (for the duration of the cruise (7days X 6.00=$42.00)...it is only sold at the start....no part cruise...it is all or nothing you can go to the solarium for quiet times....16 and over can't tell you about CBS... wrp96 Posted January 12, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2009 You will find a piano player in the Schooner Bar. The quality varies from cruise to cruise. For tanning purposes, if you want quiet, go up to deck 12, and you will find tons of deck chairs all around on that deck. It won't be next to the pool, but you'll be able to find a quiet area. The Solarium is usually nice and quiet but they normally keep the roof closed so no tanning in there (which was perfect for me but not if you want to tan). 3 Dog Night Posted January 12, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Thanks to those who answered a couple of my questions. Still wondering about the CBS question. Anyone who's been on the ship know if it is part of the regular television coverage? Is there a sports bar?
waterbugohio Posted January 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2009 3 dog. Yes there is a sports bar. As I cannot say for sure if they run CBS, I know we were able to watch an Ohio State football game the day we were there. There are many TV's and I'm am sure they will change them for you. I can't imagine there not being a CBS channel.
cb at sea Posted January 12, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2009 None of the pools are over 4-5 ft! And if seats right next to the pool are limited then simply go up a deck or two...there are plenty of lounge chairs on all the upper decks. the Solarium is covered, making tanning almost impossible!!! javalina Posted January 12, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2009 Hey 3 Dog Night--when in late March are you cruising? Have you been over to the Roll Call boards? If you're on the March 21 cruise, come over and check in on the Partying Pirates thread!
wrp96 Posted January 12, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 12, 2009 They do not show any of the regular broadcast channels onboard the ship. They do have something called CBS Eye on RCCL but it's prerecorded shows.
