What are the rules for bring in food through customs from Mexico. IE: fruit, cheese, etc.?

Have you done a Google search? It isn't about what you can take out of a country, it's about what you can bring home.

 

Your cruise documents will tell you, but every country I know of does NOT allow fruit or produce.

You are permitted to bring a baked good such as factory wrapped box of crackers but you cannot bring a luncheon meat sandwich.

 

Absolutely no fruit, fresh veggies, plants, soil, meats.....

 

 

Seeing as this is a cruise board, I'm confused as to why you would want to bring food in from Mexico by way of a cruise ship.

I have heard of people who wanted to bring food ashore off the ship when visiting Mexico (not allowed) but what sort of food do you want to bring back onto the ship?

Candy, chocolate, cookies, crackers and other prepackaged dried foods are fine.....cheese, no.

 

No fresh food of any kind is permitted.

Most ships permit you to bring food aboard (within reason and using common sense as to bugs/rodents/spoilage etc) but you cannot bring it off. If you wsant that cheese to eat while on the ship, that is probably okay.
