Potential Newbie to Princess. Question about daytime/evening activities.

Hi All

Thanks for providing so much interesting info.

We're considering sailing with Princess this summer (instead of P&O) and wondered if there was plenty of organised things to do on board during the day or even when docked.

We're thinking in terms of quizzes, competitions, sports tournaments etc.

Any help much appreciated.

All the best,

Ian

Yep, lots of stuff going on, although some of it is kind of lame, depending on one's taste. But there's usually trivia at least twice a day, yay! If you do a search for "Patters," you may find a thread where someone has scanned theirs in, and you can see for yourself what's on offer.

There will plenty to do, but on port days there will usually be less activities to choose from during the port hours since many (most?) of the passengers will be on shore.

Some who remain on board say it is great to be at the pool on those days.

Trivia will still be held, but there will be fewer people attending.

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated.

Does anyone know if the prices of things are in dollars on board for a cruise departing from the UK?

Anyone been on a P&O cruise and can compare it to Princess?

Thanks again all.

Ian

All on-board charges are in US$. I think compared to P&O Princess is a little less formal, but that also depends a lot on the passengers themselves. When we have sailed out of Southampton we have found that people tend to dress up more. You won't find a coffeemaker in your room as you would on P&O.

Tough decision really. With pros and cons.

We can either go Aurora for 12 nights with an outside balcony or 14 nights on the Grand Princess with an outside (non-balcony) cabin.

We've travelled on the Oceana before and really liked it, but not Aurora.

Does anyone have any opinions on the cabins between the two?
