new to holland america, just booked the ryndam,

is there ATM;s on the ship? No ATMS on HAL

can you see your bill on the TV? NO

and do you pre pay excursions ? or just pay for them once you board? You pay when you book (reserve) your excursions. If you book before your cruise, you pay before you cruise. If you wait until you board, you pay for your excursion on the ship (it's added to your shipboard account).

anyone have any pics of the inside rooms and the bathrooms, im curious about the tub?? No tubs, only showers, for the inside cabins.

Sorry, no pics.

Yes you can get cash at the casino but they have a 3% service charge added to your account. I experienced this on our holiday cruise, when can you believe on the last night we had a credit balance on our account due to our fuel supplement charge refund and stockholder credit. We didn't do any excursions and not big drinkers so actually had money we needed to get back. Just prior to disembarkation got a call from front office we still had $1.16 credit balance that I had to come claim at front desk before our account could be cleared. Guess should have increased those tips by an additional $2.

Hope this helps

Once you are on board there will be an $11 per person automatic tip added to your shipboard account.

Also any cokes, soft drinks and all alcoholic and wine drinks that you buy -- a 15% gratuity will be added onto those bills.

If you decide to purchase shore excursions online before your cruise -- the price of them will be charged to your credit card. Should you decide to change your mind about a tour once you are on the ship -- you can cancel that tour on Embarkation day without a penalty -- credit will be given to your onboard account. After that there will be a 10% penalty -- check your daily program for those cancellation dates.

Any tours that you purchase once on board will be charged to your shipboard account.

how is holland americas kids club? for ages 8-12?

any more thoughts on the ship?

what is all in the room as far as tolietries? any qtips or anything ?

No q-tips ... but there will be small bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and shower gel. These items are replenished by your cabin steward as they are used up. And two types of bar soap.

Melika - You shouldn't need any cash onboard the ship.

The Front Office will cash traveller's checks for you without a fee.

I've never travelled to any of the Mexican ports you show on your signature, but I'm gonna guess that there are ATMs in the shopping areas near the docks. You could try the Mexico board here on cruisecritic - I'm sure folks there would be happy to provide more specific info on each of those ports. You could also try googling each of those port towns. Look at maps & businesses close to the docks. You should find all kinds of interesting things.

Re: foreign ATMs. Make sure you notify your own bank that you'll be using a bank outside of the USA. You don't want your transaction denied because of possible theft or fraud. Also, you'll want to know which networks your bank uses as well as the correct type of PIN code for a foreign bank.

Oh, and the Elemis toiletries are lovely. :)

Re: excursions.... I'd strongly suggest you book in advance. There's always a chance an excursion might be sold out, and then you're stuck wasting time on shore trying to find a replacement, OR taking a "2nd choice". HAL does charge your cc the day you book an excursion on line.

thank you everyone for the info, yeah i was just thinking about cash we will need at the ports, i usually take 100 or more for each port since we dont use credit cards, and i sure dont want pesos.. i guess i will have to either get travellers checks or carry some cash with us ,,,

thank you all again
