can786 Posted January 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Just went to the Princess site to check something on the deck plans and they are much larger now than they used to be. They show up at approximately the size they used to be if you zoomed all the way in, and you can still zoom in much more now. Much more user friendly than they used to be. RickEk Posted January 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Yep, I just noticed that too. It's nice to see that they upgrade their site with useful innovations!

I saw that this AM, thought it must have happened while we were gone for two weeks. Guess they must have just changed it.
can786 Posted January 22, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted January 22, 2009 It also looks like they have updated the deck plans for the Star to reflect the recent changes.
cherylandtk Posted January 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Good to know, thanks! Guess Princess realized that their demographic is not the one with the sharpest eyes, LOL. ETA--I notice they now have a statement about 'correct as of date such and such--subject to change at any time'
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted January 22, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Now I wish they would add virtual tours or 3-D renderings of the deck plans as some other cruise lines do.
chrysalis Posted January 22, 2009 #7 Share Posted January 22, 2009 Yes, they are better, but there are some bugs...check out Deck 6 and Deck 7 on the Emerald. Somehow they look the same:) Also, if you have not noticed, if you click on a particular cabin, you can see some 360 views.

shellbeachjim Posted January 22, 2009 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I like the magnifying glass feature when you mouse over the side view of the ship. Certainly my eyes aren't what they used to be, so this really helps.
Solara Posted January 23, 2009 #10 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Thanks for the info. These have to be brand new because 2 days ago I was checking out deck plans on ships since we are thinking of booking another cruise & the old deck plans were still there. lv2teach Posted January 23, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 23, 2009 they also have 360 views of some of the public area's on teh ships
rdsqrl Posted January 23, 2009 #12 Share Posted January 23, 2009 These are soooooo much better. I hated the previous one, where you had to scroll down just to get the whole deck plan box onto the screen, then click the enlarge button in order to actually see anything -- all way too much trouble. This is a major improvement, thank you Princess!

mii Posted January 23, 2009 #17 Share Posted January 23, 2009 Boy this is something new as I just went in there a couple of days ago and still had the old deck plans. Boy these are much easier to see. I do usually use the brochure maps but those things really need a magnifying glass for those. Thanks for tell us about this. Paumavista Posted January 30, 2009 #18 Share Posted January 30, 2009 I study the deck plans before choosing a ship and Travelocity and Princess both have the same deck plan layout for the Sapphire.......but then I surf the net for "pictures of the Sapphire pools" and WOW....I'm looking at some entirely different ships it seems........ One family has taken pictures of the calypso pool which I posted below.....this calypso pool is in the aft (back of the ship) just above the Terrace pool. This is NOTHING like the deck layout plans on the princess website! Can anyone help with this......are the pictures this family took from a different ship? Have there been MAJOR changes to the layout of this ship or are the deck plans on both sites wrong? Makes me wonder what else is different??? Thanks for comments - Judy
terrierjohn Posted January 30, 2009 #19 Share Posted January 30, 2009 The picture is of one of the children's pool on Sun deck, with the terrace pool showing below on Aloha, and it was like that last year when we were in Australia.

Thanks for comments - Judy That's the Splash Pool above and the Terrace pool below. The Calypso Pool is the covered pool under the Magradome forward of the funnel.
