Just got off the Legend on Sunday. This was the first cruise for almost all of us, and we couldn't get over how great the service was in many locations all over the ship.

For me, the staff in the lobby bar (Prasetyo, Svitlana, Made, Cynthia, and Artur) were amazing. So fun to talk to, fast service, great drinks. In the dining room, Ketut and Komang were exceptional as well.

Who were/are your favorites?

And if anyone has pictures of any of the bar staff I mentioned earlier, I would love to see them. I think I have pictures of everything else but them.

Cheers!

Yes Arthur is a hoot isn't he? Best bar waiter ever.

We still talk about once a week.

The stories he told us over the week cracked me up :)

And I'd much rather be at the lobby bar than in the office right now, that's for sure :)

# 1 was our headwaiter Yotsa. There were endless stories of how he went out of his way to make our cruise special. I kept relating the stories to asst Maitre'd Dessi how incredible he was .Not that she was not amazing in her own right. She was defintely # 2. The CD Shawn was great. Entertainment staff Nick was well, entertaining.

  • 6 months later...

Our room steward, Agus. He was terrific.

There were a few others who were VERY special to me:

Andrea, a dealer in the casino. She always had a smile on her face and she was so patient in teaching me and DS how to play roulette. Really loved it when she was at our table.

Eko, one of the drink waiters in the casino. Just a little, soft-spoken guy. I ordered a Mojito in there once and the next night he was back calling me by name and asking if I wanted another Mojito. He had such a sweet, endearing personality. We really bonded over the next few nights.

Ding, our waiter. What a hoot he was. So personable! He made us feel quite special.

ALL Carnival Legend staff, without exception, were wonderful.

Whaen we sailed in April, our Maitre'D was Yusef. He had the greatest sense of humor and was very entertaining. The dining staff really seemed to be enjoying themselves during the nightly song and dance routine. All the staff was good, but he was especially memorable.

I heard a lot of negative comments about Jen as well, but I really didn't have a problem with her. Our room steward was Eka and he was great. Always nice and learned our hours very quickly.

In the dinning room we had Alberto from the phillipines and Ceasar from panama. Alberto was just ok but Ceasar was hilarioius. He joked with one of our tablemates during lunch calling choclate mousse "chocolate mouse". She thought it was hilarious and the joke continued on to dinner. Overall our dinning experience this time was a not as great as our cruise on the Glory. They never did refer to us by name at dinner.

My favorites were my waiter Jojit and assistant waiter, Yasumin. They were fantastic. They knew everyone's name the first night and made dinner so much fun all week. Jojit's wife, (I forgot her name) was at the specialty coffee bar and she was super nice too. One of my favorite cuises to date!

Is Jen Baxter no longer the CD? I've seen many negative comments about her.

j

Just like the rest of the staff...the CD rotates different ships, when they are "acting CDs" (which Jen was).

Once they are promoted to permanent CD...then they usually stick to a ship for awhile. (Tex was on the Fantasy forever, now he is on the Valor)

You will find them on "their ship" until they get promoted to a larger ship OR they are on vacation.

I agree about Yusef! Such a charming man! He came around to our table every night without fail and asked how things were. I also loved the "showtime"....

I liked Jen also. Her voice and accent really grated on my son, but that didn't bother me. I thought she was quite funny. And very informative. No problems with Jen! (Of course I will say that was my first and only cruise, so I have no one with whom to compare her as a CD.)

I wonder if this is the same Agus who used to be a bar waiter in the Golden Dining room on the Glory. He is 1 of my top 3 favorite Carnival employees !! Was he about 22, short and very thin and blinked his eyes a lot ? He was SOOOOO funny as our bar waiter in June of 2008. He made our cruise !

That could very well be him!

Who will the CD be on our cruise...we are cruising Jan 3, 2010? Anyone know?

While 2010 schedule is not out yet....although John is promising "any day now".

However if you look at the schedule through 12/31/2009...

Jen Baxter is coming back on after John the middle of November. If I were a betting person, I would bet she will still be there for your cruise.
