CruisinChris Posted January 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Check this site... http://www.nauticalcities.com But here's a short list of the year they were originally launched: Sun Princess - 1995 Dawn Princess - 1997 Sea Princess - 1998 Grand Princess - 1998 Pacific Princess - 1999 Tahitian (Ocean) Princess - 1999 Golden Princess - 2001 Royal Princess - 2001 Star Princess - 2002 Coral Princess - 2002 Island Princess - 2003 Diamond Princess - 2004 Sapphire Princess - 2004 Caribbean Princess - 2004 Crown Princess - 2006 Emerald Princess - 2007 Ruby Princess - 2008 It's a little misleading to list Tahitian (Ocean) with an 1999 date - in fact OCEAN princess was launched in 2000. Tahitian, Pacific, and Royal all first sailed as Renaissaince R ships. Their join date with the Princess fleet should be represented above to avoid confusion and misunderstanding. RickEk Posted February 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2009 It's a little misleading to list Tahitian (Ocean) with an 1999 date - in fact OCEAN princess was launched in 2000. Tahitian' date=' Pacific, and Royal all first sailed as Renaissaince R ships. Their join date with the Princess fleet should be represented above to avoid confusion and misunderstanding.[/quote'] ;) Well, the OP asked for "first sail dates". The rest of the post leads me to believe that he was looking for the relative ages of the Princess fleet. Also, since the Tahitian Princess is to be renamed Ocean Princess later this year, I thought I'd list it the way I did. And, finally, since the OP was inquiring of the newest vessels in the fleet, I assumed that overwhelming him with minutiae of ships no longer in the fleet would be more confusing.

mark213 Posted February 3, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Is there a big or any difference between the older ships and the newer ones in terms of amenities, decor, facilites, dining experience etc - Say the Grand vs Emerald?
Rare Woobstr112G Posted February 3, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Is there a big or any difference between the older ships and the newer ones in terms of amenities, decor, facilites, dining experience etc - Say the Grand vs Emerald? The Grand is an older ship from a different class. She is actually the first of the "Grand" class ships. She carries less passengers than the Emerald which is a "Crown" class ship carrying more passengers. Decor may as well be different. The Atrium on the crown ships has vines and the international cafe. They also have the crown gril;l whereas the grand has sterlings. the actually layout is somewhat different as well.
