Vancouver - Marriott or Renaissance?

I can't say which one is better but they are across the street from each other and are about 5 - 6 blocks from Canada Place. you may be able to get a view of Canada Place from some of the rooms in the Harbourside one.

Just a head's up - there has been a third Marriott property in Vancouver - the Residence Inn but as of Feb 2009 it will no longer be a Marriott property.

Cheers

We stayed at the Marriott Pinnacle a couple of years ago prior to our Alaska cruise. The room was small however it has the best concierge lounge that I have seen. As a platinum Marriott member, I've been in alot of Marriott properties and this lounge's breakfast and evening hor d'houerves (sp) were outstanding. From the lounge one could watch the sea planes take off and land, and watch the ships coming in and out of the harbor. When we left a needed item in the room, the ship called back to the hotel and they sent the item over by taxi - not sure if that was Marriott or HAL - they both recieved kudos.

The Renaissance is on the north side of Hastings and will provide you with better views of the harbour, the North Shore mountains and Stanley Park if you are on the north side of the hotel. The hotel itself is about 35 years old and was opened under another flag but underwent a huge renovation last year.
