The Point Supper Club New Dress Code

Recommended Posts

I have asked this question in both my roll call and the cruise fashion and beauty thread and no one seems to know.....

"Is there a new dress code for the Point Supper Club on the Conquest?" If so, what is it? Do they still require a coat and tie for gentlemen? We are leaving next weekend and it would help to know when packing.

Thanks!:)

As I understand it the dress code for the supper clubs is always resort casual, no matter what the code is for the rest of the ship. Coat and tie are not required.

Thank you both....that's good information to know!:)

The Supper Club is an intimate restaurant that accepts reservations for when the guest chooses to dine for dinner between the hours of 6:00pm-9:30pm. Reservations are made by telephone from the guest's cabin. This is an alternative to eating in the Dining Room or the Lido Restaurant. The Supper Club features prime steaks.

The reservation fee is $30 per guest, per entree. This fee includes the wait staffs' gratuity; additional gratuities are optional and may be extended in cash or to the guest's Sail & Sign Account, at the guest's discretion. The reservation fee does not include any beverage that is normally ordered through the bar service such as wine, liquor, soda and bottled water.

There is a cooking display area where guests can watch the chefs prepare their culinary masterpieces. The dress code requires that men wear jackets on the formal nights of the cruise.

There is a Supper Club on the following ships:

Carnival Spirit – Pride – Legend – Miracle

Carnival Conquest – Glory – Valor – Liberty – Freedom

Carnival Splendor – Dream

Reservations can be made once the guest is on board or prior to the cruise. A reservation form can be found on John Heald’s Blog (via carnival.com) or by using the following link: http://surv.cheetahmail.com/s?aid=982238741&o=1&n=28.

Requested dates and times are on a first come, first serve basis. If the requested time is full, the next time slot will be assigned. At this time, we do not send out confirmations prior to the cruise indicating that the dinner reservation has been confirmed. The guest will be notified once on board. In the future, an enhancement will be made and confirmations will be emailed to guests prior to the cruise.

Ok, now I am really confused:o. With the new relaxed dress codes on formal nights, I thought I read somewhere that the same applied in the supper clubs.

CruiseFanMan: How old is that link you posted??? Did it come out perhaps before the new relaxed dress codes?

Just to clarify I called Carnival and spoke to Michelle. She said that the dress code in the Supper Club is the same as the main dining room. Here is a copy from Carnival's website:

Is there a dress code for the dining room?spacer.gifDepending on the length of the cruise, either formal dress or casual resort wear is required in the Dining Room. The dress requirement for children is the same. For those not wanting to dress up, the Lido restaurants are open nightly (with the exception of the last evening of the cruise), and have a casual dress code.

Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men.

Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so. Ladies - Cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses; if you‘d like to show off your evening gowns, that's great too! Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Elegant dinner for ladies and gentlemen: shorts, T-shirts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, jeans, cut-off jeans, sleeveless shirts for men, sportswear, and baseball hats.

Just got off the conquest on the 8th. Had an unbelievable experience in the point supper club. Highly recommended. The dress code is the same as the cruise elegant nights. I wore dress pants and an open collared dress shirt as I forgot to pack my tie. Did not feel out of place as there were patrons wearing nice dressy t-shirts under a sport coat.

Sorry to briefly hijack this thread but...

Sabby45, can you PLEASE post a review on the Conquest Questions or Conquest review thread?? Did they put in the flat screen tvs? Mongolian grill? Did they change the themes in any of the public rooms, or just new carpet, but same patterns? etc etc!!!

I plan to wear my tux to the Point on one of the elegant nights (whichever one does NOT have lobster, don't want to miss that!)

On the Miracle last week, we asked the Maitre'd the dress code and she stated it was cruise casual every night. I asked why this was so and she stated that with the airlines charging for baggage, they do not want to turn people away from the supper club due to lack of suits and dresses.

My buddy and I wore slacks and collared shirts and were not at all out of place. We did not see many in the supper club the entire trip but those we did see, were dressed casually and enjoying their meals.

We ate there 5 out of the eight nights. It was awesome and WELL worth the 30.00 per person upcharge!!!
