Transfer MIA to FLL

My family of 4 rented an SUV (got a great price at Orbitz) at Miami and drove to our hotel. The drop off for the car in Ft Lauderdale was just minutes from the pier and they had nice busses that took you there and picked you back up when your cruise was over. It was cheaper than taxi's and shuttles for our family. Also -- we were able to stop off at a Walmart on our way to drop off the car and pick up some sunscreen and other things that were hard to find in our hometown in the winter time.

The Super Shuttle isn't cheaper than a taxi for 5 people--only for 1 or maybe 2. You're better off getting a limo service as stated above. It's an expensive taxi ride from MIA to anywhere in Ft. Lauderdale. If you will be there for more than 1 night, definitely get a rental car.

Thank you all for your replies. As always you are a great help - especially to us Brits who rely on you "locals" for info.

This query was for my niece and her family who do not want to drive after the long flight from the UK - no spirit of adventure!

They are staying at Pier 66 for 3 pre-cruise nights in March and just want to relax and get rid of the jetlag.

They will probably prebook a limo and that should eliminate any post-flight hassle.

Many thanks again

I presume you are not on a Princess package staying at the Intercontintal

No - cruise booked with US TA, flights booked direct with BA, hotel with Priceline.co.uk and transfer as suggested by Sue and justmetalkin. Still a lot cheaper than booking in UK.
