Deposit returned

Can anyone advise how long it takes for Oceania to reimburse the refundable deposit back to passengers' credit card? I understood that as long as voyage is cancelled prior to when the full cruise fare is due that full deposit is returned by Oceania according to their contract. I was curious how long it takes for the credit to be seen on one's credit card account?

Thank you very much for your information!

We cancelled a cruise 3 weeks before final payment was due, and it was credited to our credit card account on the next billing cycle.

Depending on your cycle closing date, I would imagine it might take two cycles before you see it.

IT IS INTERESTING TO NOTE THAT WHILE MANY POSTERS REPORT THAT DEPOSITS ARE TYPICALLY RETURNED WITHIN 1-3 DAYS IMMEDIATELY AFTER THEY CANCELLED...THIS IS WHAT THE OFFICIAL WORD FROM OCEANIA IS:

It can take up to 4 to 6 weeks for it to show on your credit card statement.

QUITE A DIFFERENCE IN REPORTED TIME!

IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS SINCE WE NEEDED TO CANCEL OUR CRUISE ...DEPOSIT STILL HAS NOT BEEN CREDITED BACK.

Check your profile or already booked section on O & see if it was cancelled by your TA

It may also be the CC company taking longer to post the refund to your account.

We have cancelled a couple of cruise & it can take up to 2 weeks to show up in the past

Oceania posts all its refund credits once a week - every Friday.

Check with your TA and find out when they actually cancelled with Oceania, often delays occur......
